Type of a scam Family/Friend Emergency
Trusting his supposed expertise, I proceeded to invest $5,000 as an initial deposit. However, this marked the beginning of an ongoing demand for additional funds, claiming that it was necessary to maximize our trading potential. Succumbing to these requests, I continued to deposit funds, resulting in a total investment of $35,000 within a day.
Upon expressing doubts and seeking clarification, I received an unusual email stipulating that an additional $5,000 was required for me to access my accumulated funds. This raised suspicions, prompting me to approach the real *** *** *** at our church a week later when he arrived back in town, seeking information regarding these transactions. To my surprise, he confirmed the existence of an imposter who was defrauding people on Instagram and clarified that he would never solicit money or engage in trading activities.
I promptly reported the fake account to Instagram; however, the account remains active at the time of this report. I also reported to The SEC, FBI , TFC , and now the FCA. Utilizing an IP grabber, I discovered that the imposter's location traces back to Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The associated IP address is ****, and the imposter operates an Android 11 OS on a Galaxy S10+ phone. Additionally, I managed to track down the Bitcoin wallet addresses provided by the imposter, which seem to be associated with the dark web.
Then I was approached by a WhatsApp numbers +*** and +*** saying his name is Mark and he is with Emaxtradehub.
Both too shows the same ip address.
