My elderly Grandmother keeps receiving phone calls from India. It is a different person each time, but all from India. They are falsely claiming to be a representative of Medicare and telling my Grandma they received an order for a back brace from her doctor. She has issues with dementia and is easily confused. The phone calls started after she was seen by doctor for knee pain, her doctor has NOT ordered her a back brace and they are trying to get her personal information (SSN) from her. Unfortunately, due to her confusion, she has provided it. They keep shipping her a back brace (I assume it is, we return to sender without opening the box). The box is sent from Embrace Medical Supply in Snellville, GA. According to the bbb website, this entity is no longer in business. I believe the scammers are billing Medicare. This really needs to end. I have read SEVERAL very similar complaints filed with the bbb. I would really like some guidance on how I can end the phone calls so my Grandma is not bothered by frequent calls from scammers. It really triggers her dementia when she gets confused and receiving the phone calls several times a day is keeping her in a constant state of confusion.
