Lady introduced herself as Emily and said "hello" multiple times and said she was having trouble with her headset. She said that we previously stayed at one of their resorts. While she did not ask "if I could hear her", I may have said the word "yes" after she repeated herself by saying "hello". I said I was not interested and hung up.

A lady by the name of Emily has called me twice saying i had recently stayed at one of their resorts. I told her I've never stayed at a resort but the whole time I'm trying to tell her not to call me anymore she keeps talking over me and I just have to hang up.

I get these calls every day. I usually hang- up, but I was tired of getting them today so I answered and replied "yes" to the questions. I thought they would transfer me to someone and they would remove my number from the list. Instead, after I said "Yes" they hung-up on me. Scammer "Emily" pretends to not have her headset on. asks a list of yes or no questions...are you over 18, do you make over 40,000/year and do you have a valid credit card.

Here’s the transcript from Google Voice (they had an obnoxiously bubbly woman make the recording, and there are clear pauses after the questions).
“Oh, I am so sorry about that. I was having a little problem with my headset anyway. My name is Emily, and I’m calling because you stayed at one of our resorts in the past and you qualify for a 75% savings on an amazing 4 day 3 night vacation Getaway in Magical, Orlando, Florida and a 3 day 2 night stay in sunny South Florida where you will then depart on a fabulous 2 night cruise to the Bahamas and as an added bonus you’ll receive an unlimited mileage rental car. So you can visit all the attractions now. Here’s the best part we’re going to include your breakfast lunch and dinner for your entire vacation as well as your entertainment on board the cruise now. They are only giving away a few cruise cabins per state, so they are. First Come first serve basis, and I only have a few questions to ask before a transfer you to a personal travel coordinator who will give you all the details on your vacation, okay? I’m so sorry. I didn’t hear you. Clearly can I ask you a few questions before. I transfer you to a travel coordinator. She gave you all vision. Can I ask you a few questions before a transfer you to a travel coordinator to give you all the details on your amazing vacation?”

I only reason I answered the call was because I was waiting on a call from a hospital in the Houston area. They asked if I could hear them and I said yes, she said her name was Emily, and speaking very fast, started in about vacation time in Orlando. She continued to repeat herself and the call was terminated. It was all a matter of seconds. I feel like this was a call where they get you to say yes.

Gregarious and friendly lady called me three times. Each time at the beginning, she claimed she couldn't hear me and needed to adjust her headset. I assume she wanted me to say, "Yes?' instead of "Hello". Said I qualified/won a stay in FL. I told her I'm on do not call list all three times. She lied about not being able to hear me each time. When I reverse looked up the number it was pinged as being a fraud and several people complained of the same experience. She also called my husbands number.

My cell phone rang with a number from Jacksonville, FL on the screen. I answered. The woman said, "Hi this is Emily with Customer Service, can you hear me okay?" I said, "uh-huh." I did not say, "yes" but the message continued to tell me about a vacation package I could buy. I immediately hung up.

Called my number and didn't answer then said she was having trouble getting headset on. I can't remember if she got me to say yes or not. But it sounded a lot like the "can you hear me" scam. She then went on to tell me that I am able to sign up for cruises. Pretty sure it was a recording.

Person introduces herself as Emily, then states she has trouble with her headset and says "Can you hear me now?" and I answered "Yes." Then proceeds to tell you about what vacation you won and asks you to answer a couple yes/no questions. They record your "yes" answer and may use it against you in the future to confirm purchases.
