I applied for a job via ziprecruiter for an office administrative / Human Resources position with the company named Alexos Analysts limited liability.

I was contacted the day after applying via ziprecruiter email from a man named Justin King, the HR manager, offering me a phone interview date and time if I was interested. I accepted. ( I also looked up Justin King on LinkedIn, because they stated the home office was in North Carolina. His profile was not verified ) A woman called asking me 3 questions. 1. If I was available to start ASAP.

2. If I could work onsite in Orlando from 9am-6pm.

3. If I am serious about the position.

A week later, I received a text message from the number I provided from a man named Anthony, with a link for a Zoom orientation. When I attended, there were over 75 people in the call. Anthony stated it is because they have offices in every major city across the US, each person will work at the location they applied to. First, they stated it was onsite 9a-6p offering no benefits. Then they stated there were actually 3 options for working with them. Two remote options from 9a-6pm and one onsite option from 11a-8p.

The first remote would pay 25$ an hour. The second remote option would pay 35$ an hour, but the person had to pay 300$ for a quick state license answering a few short questions.

The onsite option would be 35$ hour.

More than half of the people in the meeting separated off to pay the 300$ fee. We were supposed to start on May 20th with a paid 4 hour zoom training prior and they would email out the w4 and direct deposit form to submit.

All lines went blank after that.

I did not submit anything because I felt weird about it.

Then I received another text stating there was confusion, and new start date would be June 4th.

I attended one more zoom call. During the zoom calls, only about 7 people had their cameras on, we were all set on mute, and we could only message Anthony. I noticed some repeat names on the call. I found it all strange.

I text them asking what the Orlando offices location was. When I tried to search it online, it did not exist. I tried calling the home office in NC, but it was a dead line. When I tried to call the number they were texting on, that was also a text app number.

Anytime I asked for a location, they would respond with something completely irrelevant. I checked on BBB, and found nothing as well.

They kept stating they do NOT need our social security numbers. Just the direct deposit form.

Today, I received a text message for a zoom call training for June 1st at 4pm EST.

Here is the link : https://us06web.zoom.us/j/8593539473.

None of it makes sense. I feel as though it is a major scam. The man Anthony had a very thick accent sounding Nigerian or some form of African.

I think they are using the direct deposit forms that others are submitting to hack bank accounts and also used a false way to scam half of the people out of 300$ for the “License”.

I have provided the last text message I received from them ::

I was contacted via text about an application I submitted on Indeed by John Stone 703 962 7991 claiming a data entry position was available. He then set up an interview with a Garry Whitaker on Ms teams ID: [email protected]

The interview was all in text.

"Brilliant About UsAlpha Manufacturing Ltd offers sheet metal fabrication services like no other, with a comprehensive range of in-house sheet metal work services including: Laser Cutting, CNC Metal folding, CNC Metal Punching, CNC Metal Turning, MIG Welding, TIG Welding and a full Powder Coating plant, all on one site in the UK. Understood?"

The interview sounded mostly legit but it did ask what bank I used (although not the account #) and which cell carrier I use and for how long. It concluded with: Great. You have done impressively well answering all the questions. If you are considered to work for the Company, you will receive a payment. You will use this payment to set up your mini office at home by purchasing your office equipment plus the shipping logistics, which are what you need to start work with. Can the Company ensure your full trust, commitment and diligence?"

It felt like it was AI. I can submit the full interaction if it helps
