They contacted me via email stating that I was selected for an interview from a job I had applied for on Indeed.com. Then proceeded by texting me a document explaining the job, how much pay for training ($34) for a week, and afterwards it goes up ($54) that included a sign on bonus and funds to purchase equipment from their vendors to work from home and to sign it via "Dropbox." Then instructed me to download this "secure" app called Wire Secure Messenger to conduct the interview. Once downloaded, to proceed by signing up and adding the interviewee (and listed their contact name to add) to start the interview. The interview was done only by texting on this app, no video. During the texting, they stated they needed to send me a check via email so that I can purchase the equipment so asked to verify my full name, sex, address, and email address. I did and they sent ne a check for $3,976.88 and instructed me to print it out and deposited it using my banks mobile app and requested a picture of the deposit confirmation page. Then asked me to check and see if the funds were available and I told them no, that it was being reviewed. They then stated we were done for today, to meet back on the app the very next day at 8am and we were going to go over the next steps after verifying if the funds are available. The check was never accepted by my bank. So I logged back on the app at 8am and informed them of everything and I got no answer, response, no one showed up and said anything.
