I submitted my resume on through career builder and received a text from Mr Andrew Acton fron 804-866-2525 phone number stating they would like to set up an interview via Skype or Microsoft teams I set an interview via Skype and Robert Williams said he is with INVETECH Group recruiting and he said I got the job and in order to receive work supplies to work from home they need my address. I messaged my address then they send me a check for $2150 via email and clear instructions on how to print it out on my printer and cut it out and make a mobile deposit through my bank. That sounded fishy I called my bank for assistance then did not deposit the check and told the scammer I made the deposit. Robert said he will contact me today when the fund clear to have me send their third party that will send the supplies to once they confirm that $2050 has clear their account and keep $100 as a welcome bonus from INVETECH. When they sent the check was from Red Diamond Construction Company From Spokane Valley Washington that's why I thought the check could be fake and checks should not be printed on printer paper. I got a message from Robert this morning to see if the funds settled in my account,I replied yes the he wanted me to send it via Zelle ,Cash App, PayPal,bank to bank transfer. I told him I don't use third party apps due to the have been in the news due to fraud, he said head to the bank now to make a $2000 withdrawal and let him know once it is done for instructions. I then told him I don't trust him and believe he is a scammer that I am reporting him to the cops and BBB. He stated he is reporting me to his fraud department for theft. I replied Back Go Ahead. Bye

I was contacted via email regarding a job I had applied for on Indeed. They said they wanted to interview me via the Signal app. I interviewed with them on Signal. During the interview, they requested my full name and address. They also asked who I bank with and if I would want to be paid via direct deposit. They offered me the job and said they’d be emailing me the official offer letter. Then they sent me a list of very specific equipment I would need for this work-at-home position. They stated they would send me a check to purchase the equipment through their trusted vendor. She (“Rebecca Lopez”) asked if I would be available tomorrow morning to go over some final details. After the interview, I googled Stonyhurst Consulting and found a Reddit thread about this job scam. Thankfully I had not given them my bank info or SSN or anything yet!

Was approached via text advising my resume was chosen for a select interview for accountant. Was interviewed via “signal” app. Was then sent two checks equaling $6000. Was told only to cash one check for equipment purchase. Was also sent a welcome letter from a personal gmail account. The letter was addressed to me and another individual. No contact made via phone or company email.
