I got a message from Indeed regarding a job opportunity at Kastrau Landscaping in Hamilton. I exchanged emails with a person claiming to be a recruiter, who got me to sign up for a website called Credit Verify. After I signed up I got a suspicious feeling regarding the job so I got my employment agent to phone Kastrau and it turned out they weren't actually hiring at the time. I did some research and as it turned out this is a common scam that Credit Verify pulls where they get you to sign up for their service, and will start charging you monthly while making it hard to actually cancel. I was able to cancel it today after phoning them directly before they could take any more money from me.
