I’ve been communicating with an individual that has been impersonating Christina Bonnichsen for the past several days, who says she is a talent manager for the Everfuel company that is based in Denmark. She has offered me a data entry position, sent me an offer letter, requested my w4 and I9 information, and sent me very detailed company reports and information, making this all appear very valid. She has also been communicating with me daily. Today, I was Federal Expressed two checks totaling ~$11,000 USD and was told I needed to deposit these funds in order to purchase equipment from some equipment dealers they work with personally, and that this equipment is needed for the role (computer, printer, software, etc.). I’ve asked Christina for a video chat to confirm I am indeed speaking with who she purports to be, but she has declined and says I will speak with my regional manager once I begin my training next week, long AFTER the equipment has been purchased. Feeling uncomfortable with this entire process, I called the bank the two checks were written on and it was confirmed the checks are not valid and this is a scam. I've concluded I have been speaking with a scammer. I have pictures and print screens of all of our communications, email addresses, check copies, the address the package with the checks came from, etc.
