Applied for a data entry job at Wagner Press Graphics in Chicago, IL via Indeed.com. Received an e-mail from [email protected] with instructions on how to go to my interview (e-mail in images attached). The English was iffy so I did some research on the e-mail and then went directly to bamboohr.com where they helpfully have a page on scams that includes this point: "BambooHR’s job descriptions will be specific and not vague. We also won’t offer a position without a series of interviews with a current BambooHR hiring team. BambooHR interviews only use the following video interviewing platforms: Hirevue, Zoom and Google Meet." The e-mail did not list these apps as how I was supposed to set up an interview and, instead, wanted me to download Signal Messenger and use "Jessica McNair's interview ID number 224 471-4856". I did a reverse phone search and found this number listed as a scam and found my information matched the information reported by scampulse.com user P.Kris. I also called the number and it is a disconnected Verizon number. The e-mail came from Minouche Sue at [email protected]. If you try to e-mail the destination e-mail becomes dc7+job+f3c156df179dea32edf101b0952afdaf404d1ae7+596953@app.bamboohr.com

The scamming company made a post on Indeed for a Remote Data Entry Clerk. After applying for the position the company reached out via Email to contact them on the Signal messaging app. You then go through an “interview” with blanket replies. The company then tells you that you are hired and they will mail you a check to purchase equipment. This check is fraudulent and will not clear, but the employer receives the funds they request you reimburse them for.
