I was messaged on Facebook. The scammer posted the job in a Facebook group. They targeted people who had kids and people who needed a flexible job. The scammer then told me I would go through an interview process for the job but I had to download the Signal chat app. They gave me the telephone number to search for the hiring manager in the app (530-385-8453). They also gave me an interview chat code (NEG23/158). They told me to let them know when I was connected and also to take a picture of the app once downloaded. Once I connected with the person through the app they started asking me about myself and proceeded to ask me interview questions. They asked me for my personal information. My address, telephone number, email address, and what state and country I lived in. I was also asked did I have any credit card debt and who did I bank with. I told them who I banked with and that I did have some credit card debt. I also gave my address, telephone number, and email. Then I was told I would get an Apple laptop in the mail for free including a fast internet connection and other materials I needed for the job. They also told me I would receive a W-4 in the mail. They also told me the job paid $27-$45 hr and had amazing benefits. I knew it was to good to be true anyway should have followed my instincts. They also pressured me to accept the job or I could pass the offer they’re not forcing me, they’ll just cancel my profile. They also sent a picture of a photo ID which obviously had to be fake. It had the company name and logo on it and a picture of them with a name on it (not sure if it was their real name or not) probably not. The name was Laurine Lovett. Joined date 15/11/2009 expiration date 15/11/2025 employment ID: 66543 The picture was a Caucasian woman with blonde hair.
