Recently, while actively searching for job opportunities on LinkedIn, an intriguing proposition came my way. Carolina Vernetti reached out to me regarding a position in data analytics specifically tailored for the real estate industry. Intrigued by the offer, I promptly submitted my resume and completed the necessary employment application through the provided link (https://forms.gle/zVNY3nWqNzzY7VFs5).

During the application process, I couldn't help but notice a peculiar request to provide my age, which struck me as somewhat unusual for a job application. Concerned about privacy, I hesitated but eventually disclosed my age, unaware of the potential implications. Subsequently, I realized that by sharing my age, I may have inadvertently revealed my birth year as well, raising security concerns.

Feeling uneasy about the situation, I decided to conduct further research into the matter and discovered that other individuals have encountered similar experiences. This discovery deepened my suspicion and prompted me to exercise extra caution moving forward. It's essential to be vigilant and mindful of sharing sensitive information, especially in the context of job applications, where privacy and data security are paramount.

They emailed me saying I got hired etc. I even spoke with them but then did research because it sounded shady. Saw that they tried the same thing with others. I said I wanted none of it and that I’ll report them. Here is the official email they sent me.

I'm more than happy to inform you that your position has been confirmed. I had to verify all the information you provided hope I'll have your %100 diligence.

Out of nowhere I got a text message saying the following:

Hello Mr. (my name) , This is Mr. Bastiste , I hired you as my personal assistant. How are you doing today?

I just emailed you now read and confirm the receipt of the email. Thanks.

My gut feeling told me this was too good to be true, the wording and the poor punctuation of the text message

alerted me of something phony. Unfortunately, I did reply to the text message and I don't know if the scammer

could do something, just in case I blocked the number of course.
