Type of a scam Employment
In that mindset I received a text message from Olivia (1 647 951 5483) offering me flexible 30 minutes to one hour work from home that could make me around $ 50 each day.
I accepted it. Olivia introduced me to Aria Bennet who explained the work through what's app and for further communication and work the chose messenger app.
I was assigned to a teacher name Elisa Baker who late on helped me set up accounts at Bitget and Crypto.com. The work was so called "App Optimization".
I was needed to complete the sets of 40/40 and during the work incase my account goes negative I had to deposit funds. And at the end of completion, I would be able to withdraw
funds including my salary and commissions.
I ended up making 8 transactions totaling 12,578 CAD. and the payback amount was little over $ 18000.
My debt card was used to deposit funds to crypto.com and from there to scammers.
Just seconds before I was going to be eligible for the withdrawal, I faces malfunctioning. Now the platform asked me to deposit another 12000 USD.
After that that the customer service behavior changed. and now I am outed from the platform.
I have all their links saved and they are still active on messenger app every day looking for new victims.
All this happened between February 26th to March 7th, 2024.
I disputed the transactions, but the bank told me that I am the one Liable.
I went to the local police station to file a complaint but after listening my story the Officer said they don't know who's behind this and even if they found them still, they wouldn't be able to recover the funds and the Officer gave me the Better Business Bureau website.
