I received a email on June 12th from Robert Rickman from email address [email protected] who stated they are seeking a video editor like myself. He sent a questionnaire for me to fill out. After completion of this email, he then stated they would like to extend an offer for employment. They sent a contract and I signed it. On the contract they stated they had a preference for equipment and would send it to me using their approved vendor. Once I signed the contract and sent it back they stated a Darryl from finance would be reaching out about my equipment. Darryl with phone number 845-814-2778 texted and asked who did I bank with after telling him he then asked if I banked with anyone else. This sounded very strange to me so I researched the company. I didn't find anything bad but when I googled his phone number a scam alert came up where someone stated they tried to send them a check and have them cash it and pay through a fake vendor. I looked up one of the editors on the website and sent them a message. She did confirm they work at upshot but never had to receive a check for equipment costs and didn't recognize the HR email, Robert, or Darryl in finance.

Then I received two separate jpg checks from Darryl and he stated to print the check, cut them, and deposit them via my mobile banking app. I did not do any of these things.
