The scammer is poised as a university professor seeking a research assistant for a computer science course. The work was to be remote and the pay was $350 per task.

I was approached with a job offer work from home to my knowledge i started may 1st 2023 i had to offer identification of my I.D then i was given task as a job to do research i was supposed to be getting paid on the 1st of each month from starting and they asked for bank account information for the deposits to be made it seemed as a real job also to clockin in on skype with kelly taylor as an HR manager all of a sudden her messages are whipped out and can no longer reach her and the number it self

The Employer emailed me about a at home customer service position that the company had available. They requested me to print the documents that they made sent me via email and sign those as well as provide my SSN,ID,Address, etc and other personal information. Well after couple days the hiring manager said that I was hired and sent a onboarding email,he always insisted that someone would later email me and give me the instructions.Well after reviewing the company for a couple days something seemed off, they haven’t called me sent me nothing in the mail and I have yet heard from the hiring manager.

I applied for many jobs on Indeed.com I was offered a position via text message. I was asked to download the app Telegram for further communications, and interview/hiring processes. Over about a weeks time frame I went through a serious of interview questions, wait times and eventually was offered a position for remote employment WFH. The pay seemed too good to be true $18 hr during training and $28 hr after 2 weeks. I mean, look I might've been born at night, but it wasn't last night and I can usually smell a con within the first few initial interactions. However, I will have to say I'm still questioning myself if it's a legit offer or not. I received an offer letter via email, in addition to hiring documents, and background check paperwork. Im in complete disbelief and utter shock by the lengths these scammers go through to con people out of their money, identities, and whatever else they can get. Obviously we are in a compromised position already, if we are seeking employment. And for them to take advantage of that vulnerability is dispicable. Karma is a ****.

I was applying for data entry work-from-home jobs on LinkedIn or Indeed. I forget which one. I applied to a lot of jobs and lost track. They contacted me first through email. They seemed legit at first because they asked typical interview questions such as: how do you see yourself at this position and when could you start if hired? Then asked for my phone number to start communicating there. They never asked for vital information for a background check, which was a little odd, but because they offered a weekly salary of $1,395, good benefits, and paid training, I ignored it. They then said I needed to purchase blank checks and a printer from office depot and Staples. They said I would be reimbursed by paycheck. I spent $120.14 on printer and ink and $37.16 on blank business checks. ($157.3 total) They sent me a check to print out for $3,800 even though the email stated it would be for $3,500. I just figured it was to cover my expenses and future expenses. I then printed the checkout and deposited it into my account, The deposit was put on hold so I called my bank and the representative informed me I may be the victim of a job hiring check scam. I searched the HQ location and it is a vacant residence on Zillow. I am still not 100% certain but all evidence is pointing to this company being a scam. That check is currently pending in my account and now I just waiting for it to bounce.

The link is no longer up for the job application but the dummy website is still up.
