I applied for an executive assistant position on LinkedIn. It was described to be a remote full- time position offering up to $33/hr. After filling out the application, I sent a personal invite to the head recruiter that was linked on the application. Later that day my invite was excepted and he responded saying that I needed to email a scanning, or a picture of my “academic certificates”. So, I scanned over my university diploma and certificate of completion. I messaged him back that same night saying that I sent it and specified what email of mine it had come from. He messaged me the next morning saying that he received it. I waited two days to follow up and when I tried looking for our message thread, it was gone. The job posting was also gone. I went to the LinkedIn page of “flexorjobs” and there weren’t any job postings or people listed for the company.

I don’t remember the guys name. I just remember the profile picture being a black man with short hair and glasses. I still have the email, but that’s it. I thought the company was a recruiting company that just helped other fill positions, but one of my coworkers (who’s in HR) said that they’ve been scamming people. She told me to report them on LinkedIn (already done) and through here.

I applied for a remote data entry position on Indeed trying to transition back into the workforce, and was surprised when I received a message to set up an interview via signal. I found it strange that there were no actual phone calls just message interviews, completing worksheets, and answering questions, but the kicker was when I was completed I expected at least a day to go by for a response not even 3 minutes I was told I was hired. So I called my cousin a told her what happened, when she looked them up on Glassdoor and couldn't find them; I did a thorough review and found complaints of people reporting them as a fraudulent company.

SECOND EMAIL: Requests monty to upload resume in correct ATS format

They offered me a job. They said they needed to verify who i am. They sent me a link for the irs to fill out paperwork. I checked with ScamPulse.com first before I filled out anything.

Shortly after I created a zip recruiter account I was emailed by [email protected] with details about a job offer and how to meet them over Zoom for an online interview. I followed through with the interview and it mostly seemed plausible but i did notice somethings were off. However I really needed to find some work so I kept going through it. After the zoom interview they sent me an offer letter which I attached and the email came from a different email, [email protected]. After looking at the offer letter they sent that was the nail in the coffin. The same email had your standard w4 and whatnot asking for your information but i knew something was wrong. I stopped entertaining them and reported both emails for phishing on Gmail and then reported them on zoom.

A recruiter after several processes of what they call an interview, said my final step before starting my paid training, I have to sign an employer/employee agreement and scan it along with a picture of my driver’s license and email it to them, which I did. Then I had another final step, to fill out W-4, and send bank information via another scan and email. I am currently, involved or fell victim to two prior to this one… so before sending any more information, I did another due diligence research and found a similar case, not too recent as well. Not sure if I should continue or avoid the “interview process/pre-training) remote consultant job position for HVG International Consultant Group, Inc. Thanks for Reading.
