I was offered a job position at the company STC Trade Development Ltd. as a Data entry clerk. I was in contact only with the “general manager” Carmela Merceica. We spoke only through email and online messaging. Never once did she give me a phone call even when I asked her too. On the start day of my training, Marcela assigned me with a training task via the internet. The task required me to convert a lump sum of cash into bitcoin from my account. I have never worked with bitcoin nor have been asked to. In our contract it says nowhere in there that I would have to be working with bitcoin at any given time. When I continued to tell her that I do not feel comfortable completing that task. Instead of assigning me with a different task like a normal company would, She continued to say I’m in violation with my contract and if I do not wish to participate I would need to pay a fine. I have never once experienced this unprofessional and careless manner of a company ever since I have been working. Also when I stated that I am not continuing with their company any longer due to the unprofessional ethics they carry on, Carmela never responded back to any texts. This company is a complete scam.
