I got a call on Friday 11/29/2024 at 12:40pm from (718) 814-4332 from someone called David from APC Services saying that he was contacting me regarding a front desk job that paid $25/hr. He described the role by saying I would be working in the lobby of the building greeting guests, checking IDs and checking them in. He also said I needed to have a CPR license and asked if I had one. I told him I did not and he said that that wasn't a problem as the company would help me get set up with one and I needed to bring $150 in either cash or as a money order to pay for the CPR training in case I got hired after the job interview. I also was asked to bring my ID and resume. He said to call (347) 947-8181 if I had any questions or had trouble finding the location. I did end up calling that number as I did not catch the name of the company. When I called and asked, they told me APC Services.

I went to the job interview on Saturday 11/30/2024 at 1pm located at 39 West 29th Street, 6th Floor, New York, NY and met with a man called Santino Nero. At the building, the company name listed in the directory is Manhattan House Management, Inc. and not APC Services. When I asked Mr. Nero at what location I’d be working at he didn’t give me a straight answer. All he said was that he works with various buildings in Midtown like the Time Warner building, etc. and that it would be in Midtown. Then he told me that on top of the CPR certification I also needed to get all of these other licenses like Fire Safety and he named various others and that the total cost would be $949. $150 would be the deposit and I had to bring him $799. The training would all be virtual, but I'd have to come in person to do the CPR training.

Mr. Nero had me fill out a contractual agreement from APC (Advanced Premier Consulting Services Inc) that both he and I signed stating that I was paying for training which was non-refundable and that there was no guarantee of employment as it was my responsibility to pass any pre-screenings and complete the training. He mentioned I’d need to get a background check and drug test. He asked for my resume and my ID. I brought my NY State ID. He just wrote my home address and DOB on the contractual agreement. I didn't see him make a copy of anything unless he took a picture with his cell phone, but I did not notice that. He gave the same form we filled out right back to me which I thought was odd. We then discussed my work experience and shortly after he told me I had been hired and would get this process started, so I paid him the $150. He asked when I would have the remaining balance of $799 and I told him sometime next week. He told me to call or text him at (516) 886-2878 when I was ready to pay the rest. I then left the office and shortly after realized I had been scammed as I found out that a company will pay for any certifications or licenses. You don't pay for this out of pocket and some of the certifications that were mentioned are free or cost much less.

I am filing a complaint against USA Film TV, a company that has been inactive and dissolved since 2016. Despite this, the company continues to accept payments for services that are never provided. Specifically, I, along with a group of six individuals, paid for a bartender training course offered by this company. We were promised job placements upon completion of the course, but this promise was not fulfilled, and no services were delivered.

Upon further investigation, we discovered that the company has been officially dissolved since October 26, 2016, but continues to collect payments under false pretenses. This fraudulent activity is both deceptive and illegal.

We request an investigation into this fraudulent behavior and ask that the company be held accountable for accepting payments while being legally defunct.

The company has also been offering services related to modeling, film, and other similar activities under its name throughout this entire period, despite being officially dissolved in 2016.

I was told that the money that I paid to me was for certifications which turned out to be fake and guaranteed employment as a security guard which never happened

I was contacted for a server position through the phone after applying for jobs on Indeed. They had contacted me over the phone and had asked me to come in for a interview on Wednesday September 4 2024. I had came in to the building which is a big corporate style building at the specified location to the 14th floor. A lady named Delia had taken me in for a interview in a office in the building. She had explained how she worked for a restaurant business agency and how I would be sent to work after I had got a food handlers license. She had taken the last 4 digits of my social, my ID and 80$ as a deposit towards a 200$ food handlers license. As a result of some searching, I quickly found that the company did not exist, the food handlers license only cost 114$ and that the email wasn't even a professional @ (address location as a @). I had also done some researching to find that this is a scam that has been ongoing in the same building for years. I was to come back with $200 on Friday September 6 2024 but I did not after learning about the scam that they were running. The building could not provide me a number for the lady running the scam but the number on the scam is 646-355-8593 and the number of the property manager of the building is 212-300-6675.

I applied for a job on Indeed and was called in for an interview. During the interview, they told me I needed to pay $300 for extra security certifications. However, after doing my own research, I discovered that these classes are available for free online, leading me to suspect I might have been overcharged or scammed.

I was scammed by a fake staffing manger, he told me I would get my arm guard stuff but I did not receive anything.

The scammer called my son letting him believe it was a job interview for a union job position. Only to find out it was for a job placement hold to which he had to pay 150.00 for the placement hold or orientation. Then proceeded to inform my son to purchase a packet for certificates in osha and fire safety training and things of that nature in order to obtain a job. My son also witnessed other potential victims on that day. He also stated that the suite was dark he was the only person there conducting these so called job interviews. The individuals name was kyle. There were no secretary or other staff in this big office suite which sounded suspect to me. The paperwork that my son showed me didn't look right to me. Today my son recieved a text messege from this so called place. If it were really legit they would've sent an email as paper trail. Please investigate.

The company originally called me for a next day interview to be recruited for a security services company. They said I would need $150 upfront if I was chosen to pay for OSHA training. They met me at their office which was not listed on the building directory and talked to me for all of ten minutes before I was “accepted”. They took down my home address and last four digits of my social security; plus had their hands on my expired state ID and temporary license, but not my renewed license. The agreement was to give the money upfront and then come back with more money at a later date to pay for more accredited training before they would employ me. They would only take the $150 in cash and they had me sign “HR intake forms” before I went on my way and started questioning everything. When I went back with my partner to get my money and information back, they got very contentious and would not give up the money. We stood our ground and they got very aggressive while we were on the phone with the cops. We were finally told to wait downstairs and they would bring us my money. We tried waiting in the lobby but the front desk attendant was trying to get us to wait outside. We stood our ground inside and they had the money but they wanted the HR contract form back first. When my partner went to the traffic cop car outside, one of them called him a ******. Finally, they counted the money in front of us, gave it to us, and we handed the contract back.

I responded to a job ad for security and they wanted 150$ to pay for a certification plus another 750$ later on. I paid the 150 cash but then realized that this company has done the same thing to other people.

They advertise their security jobs on Indeed and LinkedIn, but they are only collecting money even though they use this kind of contract that naive job seekers sign so that these scammers are not liable for anything.

They called me and offered me the position of Front Desk for a residential building. They said to bring a photo ID, resume and $150 for a CPR and OSHA certification.

- New York, NY, USA • Jan 19, 2024

I got a call on 01/15/2024 for a front desk/security position and was told I had an interview the next and to bring $150 for certifications. I went for to the interview on 01/16/2024 at 1PM EST at 104 W 40th St on the 5th floor (I believe they called me by finding my resume on indeed). Once the assistant brought me in (I believe her name was Ezielle) I met with my interviewer who I honestly forgot his name but he just told me his last name from what I do remember. He then asked me if Ezielle can conduct the interview for training and I said it was fine. Overall we started talking about what I did for work, then moved on too the security job responsibilities, and finally about the payment. I tried to ask questions about what this was for and she said it was for certifications I needed from the state ro be a security guard. I also asked if they would pay for training but they said no as it would be a return on investment. I said ok to paying and then my initial interviewer came in and started talking about how he can expedite the fee if I pay 500$ for the training only. So I said I would have to go to the bank and went to the bank to get the rest of the cash. So when I came back I gave them the cash they wrote a receipt and made my sign a form. The man wad on the phone with a guy and the guy on the phone said “What are you doing?” The interview said “im on the phone with a pif” the guy on the phone then said “How much did you get?” and then laughed. The interviewer said he had to go then immediately hanged up the phone. He told me to text this number [+1 (347) 928-1481] my email so they can send the training link. They then welcomed me ob board and I left. I checked the email I think I got a day later and it was just a link to a website with free training courses and you have to login.

I applied to a security job with Professional Resources Consulting via Indeed or ZipRecruiter and was called in for an interview on March 14th, 2023. I was told I can pay half of $300 ($150) to receive training and I would get an email with all of the information regarding the training. I went back to this place and paid the other half of the $300 (another $150) via cashapp to a Mr. Malone Security Guy (that's the guy's Cashtag). Upon paying $300, I never received said email and spoke to someone else regarding that. That person told me that they would send me the email that would have all the information in regards to the training. I never received the email to this day, therefore, I never got trained nor did I end up working with them. They took $300 from me and I never heard anything back from them. I have attempted to email and contact them via telephone numbers that was provided, but was unsuccessful. I never got my money back.

They called me about a job offer about a front desk position requiring CPA certification. If the potential candidate does not have the certification, they inform that the company can cover the CPA certification training and ask the candidate to bring $150 along with a photo ID and a resume to the location. They reassure that the $150 wont be taken unless you are a potential match. A the interview is always scheduled the next day of the phone call at 11 am. Near the end of the call they tell you, to tell the person you are interviewing that X, Y, Z name sent you; since the interview locations are small-medium business within apartments in downtown Manhatten.

Hello, my partner was applying for jobs on indeed and came across this offer. They used various pseudonyms on Indeed and other sites, and practically forced him to pay for “certificates” which included CPR, Metal Detection Certificate, OSHA card, and various other certificates. My partner paid them the money ($960) and didn’t hear anything from anyone about classes and other information that he might need in order to get these “certificates” . and multiple reviews online and other people that went to the same place said that they were also scammed out of the same amount. when we went to said business to try and request money back in a calm and collective manner, they attacked my boyfriend twice by shoving him to the ground and beating him. When i called undercover under a TextNow number before getting there, i asked a simple question on the phone which was “can you tell me a little more about the buisness and job?” and the guy on the phone was screaming at me and calling me * **** *** * ***** just because i asked for some information nicely. There’s other people that were scammed by this exact offer and the Doorman even admitted that it was a scam and that the cops are always at this place. please shut this business down so they don’t harm other people just trying to obtain a job. I’m only able to upload one screenshot but if any other evidence is requested i’ll be glad to provide it. Thank you

I was job searching on Indeed and the next evening, I got a call from a woman named Michelle for a job offer to be a security guard at a hotel. She told me that it was a great paying job and that all I would have to pay for was for a OSHA training that was going to cost only $150, and that the money would be refundable. she said for the job; I would be checking badges, and welcoming people who came in to the hotel. She gave me the address for the location on where the interview would be and the next day, I went to that location. When I arrived, I was asked to check in and to write the name of the person that referral/ called me on that previous day, which was Michelle. When it was my time to go to my interview appointment, I got a text message and the text said to ask for Bria, I still asked for Michelle cause that was the original lady I was speaking to on the phone. After waiting for a hour, a different person named “Zack” called me into the office to do the interview. All of a sudden, he told me about what the job was in more detail, and that all I would have to do is pay $300 for OSHA training, a fire guard test, and a CPR certification but I told him that when I was on the phone with Michelle, she said that the cost was $150 and I only had to do the osha training. He ended up telling me that she wasn’t accurate with the information on her end and that how I would have do take all of these training classes for $300. I told him that I only had $150 in cash that my mom gave to me and he bargained with me to compromise that I could just pay the rest of the balance when I come back the following week, he also told me that he’d tell me even more information about the job since everything was so vague, but I had to sign their contract. I never came back the next week to give them the money because my sister was earning me that the job sounded like a scam so I didn’t want to waste my time or money. After doing even more researching, I’ve realized that the job was definitely a scam. I had suspicions but now I know for sure it is a scam. I even tried calling them back today but their number goes straight to a Google Voice voicemail.

On August 3 I received a call for an interview from a young lady. It was for a company known as Allianze multi services. I didn’t remember applying to it but I applied to so many jobs on indeed, so I assumed it was one of the jobs that I had applied to. I had trouble scheduling my interview because my schedule at my current job that I was hoping to leave is Tuesday through Saturday and I was told their days of operation or Tuesday through Saturday as well. My interview is scheduled for Tuesday, August 8 at 1 PM. I got there and my interview was short, located 1501 Broadway New York, New York, 10036. A new person was interviewing me. Besides, the person who called me. He went by the name of Mr. Jones. My interview was short once finished. He said you’re hired and I’ll hold your spot. I like your interview and your résumé was nice and neat. He made me believe that I had already got the job and then brought out a paper for me to sign. Everything on that paper disregarded what was said in the interview. He gave us two options. Option A: you can spend $799 in installments and then receive your trainings after completing the payments or pay $599 today and receive all your trainings today. With Option A we were told we would make $18-$21 an hour. Option B you can spend $999 in installments and receive your trainings after or pay $799 today and receive your trainings today and you’ll make $23-$27 an hour. Obviously we would go with the one that was going to pay us more money. He told us to disregard what was written on the contract and said that he can vouch for us and give us $23 to $27 hour as long as he spent that much. I tried reaching out multiple times. The email that I received with my trainings they were forwarded from the email that was connected to the website. If you go through the website the website’s hours are Monday through Friday when I was told Tuesday through Saturday. The website says “better yet come visit us” and there’s no address printed on the website says that the website was put up this year 2023 and Mr. Jones has told me that he’s been with a company for 1 to 2 years. The spelling of the company is not consistent as well. I spoke with some other girls that were also trying to get a job with this company and one told me that the man who interviewed me known as “Mr.Jones” told her His name was “Sean”.

- North Bergen, NJ, USA

Company contacted me via phone and email asking if I was interested in a catering job for 21 an hour and accepted even though the whole situation seemed suspicious. They asked for my resume, ID and $80 for food handlers license classes for New York City. After my first visit where I paid $80, they told to come back with $200 for the classes and so I did. The class was just a guy reviewing a Food Safety Prep Course Manual that could've been given to us to study. After the class was over they told us to go to the New York City Food Handlers License website and review the same information found on the manual and schedule a date to take the test. Unfortunately I fell for this scam and for classes that were not necessary at all and paid in total $280 for a license that was only $24 to apply for. Another negative is that there were several other young people that also fell for this scam.
