HI My name is **** and I was scammed out of a deposit and 3 months of rent. I met the landlord ***** online through Turbo Tennant and another verified website. After extensive interviewing (multiple phone calls, background check through verified sources, applications, & documentation) I provided the down payment and 3 months deposit to hold the house. The landlord then emailed a few days after receiving the money & stated that the currently family living in the rental needed a few more days. We were unable to complete the walkthrough due to COVID-19 concerns the family had. ***** told us we must wait to do the walkthrough until after the family is out.

We waited a week and were set to tour the place when ***** stopped responding. I knocked on the door of the house and found the real owner, *****. He said his identity had been stolen and someone was posting his house up online.
