The scammer offered a spiritual healing program that would grant me anything I desired in life. After paying $65 for an initial reading, $525 for a 2 week program, the scammer encouraged a 6 week program for a payment of $3,300 that would cover the services and necessary items for the rituals, rented from "Mike" of Psychic Eye Shop in Sherman Oaks, CA. Shortly into the program, the scammer told the victim that she must put down $10,000 for a necessary item for the rituals, otherwise bad things would happen. On June 8th, the scammer sent an email promising the victim would get $5,500 in return on June 19th after the rental fees. The victim didn't have the money, so she asked her ex-husbands to borrow money, and put $4,000 towards the item, when the victim put in $6,000. A week or so later, the victim was told she messed up the energies, so she needed to make a purchase for more materials, worth $4,200. The scammer borrowed money from family and gave $500 towards that total, and the victim paid $3,700. The scammer told the victim to borrow money from loved ones and take out a loan for this. The victim was also encouraged to source money from her 401k. Then, a week or so later, the scammer attempted to get the victim to take out a $40,000 loan to purchase gold that was "necessary" for the rituals. The victim said no and was verbally and emotionally abused and threatened. The scammer then found an "alternative solution" that was only $15,000, of which she contributed $7,000 from her ex-husbands, and the victim submitted $8,000 from credit cards that she was encouraged to open since others were maxed out. A week or so later, the scammer asked for $7,500 for more "necessary" materials. The victim was unable to source this, so she gave $500 and was given a few days to source $6,000 because "Mike" was giving a "deal." She was unable to provide this money because she exhausted all resources. Although the victim was promised money weeks prior, she was being told the money would all ultimately come back to her on Wednesday, July 12th, as promised via email by the scammer on July 10th. When she was unable to source the money on July 10th, the victim was coerced to provide the only money she had, $500, to hold off the bad threats that the scammer was promising. The scammer began threatening that the victim's family would get in car crashes, fires, and freak accidents. The scammer also threatened to reach out to friends and family of the victim, blackmailing her in an attempt to receive the last $6,000. She became verbally aggressive, commanding the victim to remove fraud flagging on all of her cards so she could pull out the money. Up until this point, the victim had kept all of these rituals a secret, at the command of the scammer. Now, the loved ones of the victim are aware of the manipulation and emotional/financial abuse that has ensued, which is why the victim is now reporting this "business" to the authorities, in hopes of getting both her money back and also saving other victims. It was put into writing & agreed upon that the victim would receive all deposits back on June 12th, 2023. When the victim asked for the payment & receipts for the items the morning of, the scammer blackmailed the victim by sending messages to loved ones on Instagram. She also berated her, calling her names, & blackmailing that she would reveal intimate personal details shared throughout her time with the victim.
