- Medford, OR, USA

I am a disabled veteran who was sent to EncodeXP in Medford as part of a job-retraining internship by WorkSource Oregon. As I understand it, WorkSource paid my salary through a grant to work for EncodeXP and receive job re-training into a new job-field (Virtual Reality Developer). After getting hired, I discovered I was the only person working on the project meaning there was no possibility for learning from others, so it was not really a training opportunity. It was a scam to get a free employee. The work they were giving me was impossible for a whole team to complete within their given time-frame, much less a single person new to the field.

This company had me purchasing computer equipment for the company out of my own money in order to simply complete my work. I was told that I would receive a gift card to pay me back, but never did.

I believe the owners of EncodeXP may be scamming the State of Oregon and WorkSource, by receiving grants then only doing the absolute minimum in order to keep the money. Somebody should look into this scam please.

When asked to purchase even more for the company out of my own money, I finally had enough and quit. The money I spent on items for the company was never repaid. The business location now appears vacant.
