Endesa SA Reports & Reviews (5)

I hope this helps someone. My own experience played out just as the other stories mentioned, here. I was feverishly job searching when I received an email about a job offer from Marcie Steckel about an opportunity. The email said Endesa S.A was based in Spain & they were expanding in the USA. They claimed that their "talent acquisition consultant" found my resume on Indeed and that I "had been shortlisted because they believe I meet the desired criteria". I was instructed to download the Telegram app, set up an account, find someone by the name of Javier Mencia (a supposed hiring manager), add them, then start the interview.

I was pleasantly surprised and completely on board with all of this. Not stopping to think that scammers are going onto Indeed to prey on potential fraud victims. Downloaded the application, found this Javier, and started my interview. They had, what seemed, to be loads of detailed knowledge and ready information about the company. I was skeptical, but I have not done an interview in several years, and with 2020 going down, I figured this is how we were doing things now. WRONG! In the interview (ALL done over IM) I was told that it will be a remote position until the branch is commissioned and that just HAPPENED to be in Austin, TX after they asked me where I was located. I would be paid $18.75 through training, then I would be paid $28.75 after it was completed. This seemed like a lot for just a data entry specialist, but I had never done the job and with the Great Resignation, I figured they had raised their hourly.

After the interview, Javier Mencia claimed they were sending my answers over to their "team for review" then I was "accepted into the position". I was then sent the New Hire Paperwork via email, asked what bank I used (thankfully did not give them my bank info), how I would like to be paid - biweekly or weekly, that I would receive my job duties every day via email and that I will report to my immediate supervisor. Javier listed all the benefits that they offered and explained that my training will be a week. A week isn't long at all, but I was still determined. I then, regrettably, filled out the onboarding paperwork and sent ALL my personal info to this random human. They then told me that I would be receiving a check to cover the equipment needed for the job (laptop, scanner, printer, and time tracker). Conveniently, the package was held up for several days. While waiting, there was something telling me to look more into this company/offer to see if it was a scam. After only a few minutes, I found this thread and the stories were the same as mine and it hit me. I immediately took action by freezing ALL credit as this wretched human had my information. I also took screenshots of the entire conversation and the emails, just in case. Once the check finally arrived, it came in, what looks like, a brown stationary envelope (like something from HobbyLobby), with no company logo anywhere. The address from where it came was from:
Carol Brower
Tritorc INC
5041 Spencer Highway
Pasadena, TX 77505

After mapping the address, it seems to be a tool store. I am not sure if there is a Carol Brower that works there as I did not want to waste my energy on this goose chase. Keeping all my screenshots as they may come in handy should these menaces to society. May they get what is coming to them.

In hindsight, there were a ton of red flags, but I was only thinking about securing a job, as I'm sure others, on this thread. I can't believe the scams are getting this out of hand. Stay safe, ya'll.

My story is much like the one that is posted prior to me. I was contacted via text message to interview with this company. Only did I find that out after I asked what the position is. I then was instructed to download the messaging app Telegram so that the hiring manager could schedule a time to interview me. I then was put in contact with the the hiring manager and he began to go through a series of questions. Beginning with an overview of the company, position etc. I advised I had 15 mins and the questioning took well over an hour. I then was advised that my answers were good and they want to start the hiring process. I was informed that they would be sending me a check to deposit to purchase work materials, computer etc and immediately I got skeptical. I continued, Though I began researching the company to see if it was a scam. When he asked me for my address etc I advised I wasn't comfortable providing personal info on that platform. He then reminded me he had my address from my resume. I told him the info on my resume would be all he would get until I got employment docs. That email arrived this morning and I was instructed to log on to Telegram by 8am this morning. He sent me a lengthy set of paperwork including an offer letter. He then proceeded in telling me my first assignment is being emailed and is due in 24hrs. The assignment was to write a 4 page paper on why customer service is important to a company. Very vague and quite useless when talking about employment. Anyone can write a paper and this is not college. Not to mention the starting pay was $28.75/hr. which was instantly shocking for a data entry position. I was then asked again to confirm my address for the check to be sent to me, and I advised him I was again skeptical about providing personal info and then having to bare the responsibility of depositing a check into my personal account. I advised I would not be accepting the job. Before I could close my phone, he had deleted all of our messaging history and did not reply to my message again. No coercing no convincing it wasn't a scam, just disappeared. I immediately reported all the emails as SPAM and deleted the Telegram app. This seems to be a ongoing scam and people should for sure know about it. Thanks.
