I have been contacted by a company identifying themselves as Energy Exchange, on multiple occasions. They are misrepresenting what they do. They say that they work alongside Eversource and they want to setup an appointment for one of their agents to come and do an assessment so they can provide a document that I would present to a solar installation company to save money. They say there is a government mandate that solar companies have to abide by and that is what Energy Exchange is providing. On two occasions they have sent out people from random solar companies to my home to pitch me on solar. So the salesman have come to my home, unexpectantly and have wasted their time and money because of Energy Exchanges lies. On the second occasion, I learned that the company who showed up, Vision Solar, buys leads from Energy Exchange. The lie that is being told is that they say that a rep from THEIR company will be showing up, and its not a sold lead or someone that is from a solar installer trying to pitch their product. They even say that the energy system will be paid for 100%.

I had a missed call from this phone number, so I dialed back. The call was picked up by someone who *picked up with*: "Mr or Ms. [name]?" "May I know who I just called?" "Are you the homeowner at [address]?" "No, I'm not. Who -" And they hung up on me. I called back. Same person picked up, once again addressing me directly immediately. I asked which organization they are with and how they got my contact info. They said they were a subcontractor of some energy firms that work with the state, and that my information is public record and pulled up. Then when I proceeded to request further clarification, they hung up. I called back a third time, this time someone else picked up, and I told them I had been speaking with [name] and that he hung up on me. This person then asked me if I was the homeowner. This experience was not professional, agents did not follow typical customer service department mannerisms. Raises eyebrows.

I keep getting calls asking for "Stephen" and then they list an address. When I call back, the name always stays the same as "Stephen" but the address always changes.

I called back after a few attempts, and sounded interested in their product. After many questions, I was given a company name of "Energy Exchange". However, they never provided that when they first started talking. In fact, for each previous time I sounded frustrated, they hung up.

The person I finally got to talk to me told me they were providing solar panel estimates. I asked her what it would take to take myself off their call list and she told me I could have someone just come and provide a free no-obligation necessary estimate. At this point, I got annoyed but was still nice with her. I told her she was only an employee. I was almost immediately handed off to a supervisor and he was less than friendly. He basically said he'd put me on a do-no-call list. My only issue with this is that I've received this same call from several different numbers with this same city (somewhere I have no idea where it is!).

To me, they seem like a scam. They are deceptive and are only trying to get you on the phone. The last caller I spoke to actually called me back and started yelling at me. I yelled back, hung up and blocked the number.

They do not sound like a legitimate company. They totally seem deceptive and for the first time in my entire life, I'm submitting something to the BBB.
