3498 was sent to Rhonda W through a pay anyone payment by chime. When John asked me for the last 4 of my social security number I gave him the wrong number so that should have alerted chime bank that it wasn’t me but instead they allowed the transaction. I told John I was not going to allow him to take money out of my account . I received a text message from chime saying did I try to use my chime card for cash app Alexjohnson for $5.00. I replied no and immediately realized I was being scammed and called the number on the back of my chime card. I had 26 transactions for Alex johnson total $110.00 and another for Eric Mcdramati for a total of $364. I continue to get text from chime customer service saying call me back so I can return your money. It wasn’t 30 minutes at the most I reported this to chime and they said that they will file a dispute on the 2 large amount taken but they couldn’t do anything about the cash app money take until the transaction goes through . I immediately reported my cards lost changed my passwords. The next day at 7pm the transaction went through so I reported a dispute at that time.
12mn I received a text saying that they reviewed their system, coordinated with other financial institutions, merchant and network and reviewed my information submitted at 7pm and found no error was made. Chime did all that after business hours in a matter of 5 hrs. but could not interfere with the transaction process I reported within 30 mins. I also expressed how I was concerned that the Customer services rep had the same accents as their customers service representative. In closing I truly believe that chime the bank scammed me out of $6,000. because how else would the transaction go through if I gave him the wrong last 4 digits of my social security number.
Some type of alert should have went into play when the wrong number was entered.
I was denied on all 3 claims. I also found the names Amanda Schlesinger, Curtis Rhodes and initial P with phone number 706-321-4286 had been added to my cash app without my knowledge. I was continually getting phone calls from
