Our dental practice received a phone call from "Maria Alvarez" # 562-929-6484 (name on caller ID) that we would have a scheduled power outage within the next hour. She stated Entergy has been emailing us regarding the outage but since there was no response that is why she was calling. (we have not got any emails) She gave a call back number for us to call with any questions, # 877-330-2522. We called to see if a power outage was actually happening because the Entergy company did have to come a few weeks ago.. The call back number sounded real, had options to pick from like the actually company... Once directed to a line, the man who answered the call back number stated our office address and phone number correctly, then again confirmed we would be losing power within the next hour but stated it was due to a non payment for the bill. Called the number for Entergy we had on a bill statement to see if this was legit or a scam since we are up to date with bills. Entergy confirmed the phone call received was IN FACT a scam and suggested that we report to the Better Business Bureau since this scammer is trying to get money from commercial businesses.

They came to my home and demanded I pay or my lights would be cut off in 24 hours. They did not have on any identification and was pressuring me. They said they were with Entergy. I called Entergy and they assured me that my account is in good standing and my lights were not getting cut off.

They called and said your electricity is getting cut off today and you need to pay them to keep it on and want your account number and name and confirmation number

A man by the name of “Justin” called my company work phone claiming to have information regarding the “Entergy solar program”. Whenever I interrupted him to tell him he had called the phone for Water Utilities he immediately hung up. I called Entergy to confirm this “solar program” did in fact not exist.

I received a telephone call on my cell phone from a person who said they were calling from Entergy. I was told that my services with Entergy would be disconnected in one (1) hour due to non-payment. I was informed that if I could make a partial payment in the next hour, that would prevent my services from being disconnected. I was told that I could go to the nearest service center (not Entergy affiliated) and purchase a money Fak card. I was told the nearest store was a Dollar General that was in my area. The representative instructed me to go to the Dollar General and purchase a Money Fak card and that it would be green in color. I was told to purchased the card in the amount of $251.35 plus $5 charge for the card which would be refunded on my next Entergy bill. Once the card was purchased I was told to call 504-502-7735 and pay the outstanding amount which would prevent my services from being disconnected. The caller said that her name was Elias Garcia.

Received automated voice message on home telephone at 1:42 p.m. on 11.06.20 indicating utilities were scheduled for disconnection due to non-payment, lack of response to disconnection notice, and requested call immediately to (800) 677-0727. Checked my account online and verified zero balance existed. Called the number and Eric answered. He provided my address and account number then advised there were outstanding payments for past three months. To avoid disconnection a payment in excess of $761.37 must be made at Entergy corporate office on Loyola in New Orleans. Told him the bill is paid monthly and website reflected no outstanding balance with current payment not due yet. He apologized for discrepancy and did not want to blame company or me, but payments were not shown posted to the account and disconnection scheduled for 11.06.20 by close of business. Terminated the call and dialed (800) 368-3749 located on bill and spoke with Tonya who verified my account had zero balance, confirmed upcoming payment amount and due date, and no disconnection scheduled.

Called and said that our electricity was going to be turned off. He said to go to Walgreens, CVS, Dollar General and pay cash. He said his name was Eric Snyder and another extension was Jessica.

Received a call from Entergy saying they were going to disconnect our businesses service today. The scammer gave me a phone number and order # for the disconnect. When you call the number, it says it is "Entergy", but according to Entergy's customer service, it is a scammer.

10-4-2016 - I had a call from the Entergy number saying my electricity would be cut off shortly. Had only a few minutes to pay in cash to prevent this. I asked if I could got to J-Mart on Ark Rd to make the payment. They said it would not be posted quick enough. That I should go to Rite Aid and buy a PrePaid Money Pak for $498.72. Then I would call 1-855-895-2591, Ext. 003 and give the number on the Money Pak card. I called Entergy to confirm I was up to date on my Entergy bill. I was due to be paid on 10-6-2016. The man was not able to give me my account number because I have 2 meters. He called me back later to see how long it would be to send the money. He hung up when I told him I had called Entergy and didn't owe the money.
