This is the second call in 2 weeks from a different number. The caller identified himself as Richard Anderson with Entergy Disconnection Department and said I needed to pay $249.83 immediately to stop the disconnection of my services. I said I would pay on line and he sent me to the "Billing Dept" and I spoke with Steven Williams who advised that I had to pay via Zelle not Bill Matrix because Bill Matrix is not updated yet. He said there are technicians at my home ready to disconnect unless they receive confirmation immediately that I paid $249.83 via Zelle. He informed me to go to the Zelle application and create an account if I did not already have one, type in "Entergy" and when it comes up, where it ask for the phone number or email address I am to put in my "Meter Disconnection Number" of 6813574936 and send the money immediately. He will call back in a few minutes to get the confirmation number. FYI when this happened before I reported it to the Fraud Div of Consumer Protection Agency, on both occasions before I received the call my On Line Door Bell notified me that someone was at my door, by the time I opened the app there was no one there. I called Entergy and they have put a Fraud Alert on my account and advised the above is not their procedure which I already knew. Please take whatever measures you can to get this information to the public.

Called and said our utility bill was behind payment and to ensure the power will not be shut off to press 1 to talk with an agent. Recorded message.

Caller identified themselves as Entergy and stated that we needed to pay $290.80 today or our electricity would be disconnected. When I told him that our bill was not even due until 9/23 he said that it was a 2 month bill. We looked at our last month bill and knew we had paid that bill on 8/20. When I debated that point with him he said he was going to turn me over to his director who would have to collect the money today or they would disconnect us. The next man got on the phone and when I told him we were not behind and our bill wasn’t due yet he then stated that they actually needed to send us a refund for the last 3months and then after I give him our information for the refund we could then pay the $290.80. I asked him why would I be getting a refund on bills that were due only to then pay another bill that doesn’t correspond with the bill in my hand. So I told him this…”I’ll tell you what I’m going to do. I’m going to hang up with you now and call this 800 number on my bill” He immediately hung up!!

Received a phone call at 4:59 on August 23. What showed on my caller ID was my Place of employment ( now retired). When I answered I received a recorded message stating that my electricity was going to be cut off in the next 30 minutes unless I immediately paid. Then someone came on the phone to take my information. Told him this was impossible since I have automatic payment system. She then asked when was my last payment and then the line dropped. Since they were obviously not my work site, unable to provide any other telephone number. What is surprising is that they knew who I worked for and used that number.

I answered the phone. Immediately a recording came on of a female voice. I think she said she had an important message. She definitely said "within the next 30 minutes to 1 hour, our power would be cut off due to lack of payment." After she said that that, I was instructed to "press one to talk with an Entergy representative." We don't use Entergy for our power so I knew it was a scam and hung up at that time.

I received a phone call from ###-###-#### (listed A******* *** **. She stated she was calling from Entergy for a disconnect from nonpayment. I would be disconnected at 4 PM (1 hour). I told her that I made a payment on 7-26-21 and I was not due until the end of August. She asked if I had a confirmation number for payment, which I stated I did not. She asked me to call ###-###-#### to resolve this issue before disconnect. When I called the number the man stated he was from Entergy and that none of my payments were showing as paid. I also, noticed his phone call had a weird cut-off sound after he was finished speaking. I looked at my acct to noticed there was no late payment showing nor a disconnect. I did not give him time to request money and I immediately hung up on the call. No payment of any sort was given. I then called Entergy to report a scam. I hope this helps someone else!

Received call and told technicians were going to shut power off within 30 minutes, hit 1 to pay bill since I suspected an old credit card was on account and got a man telling me that I needed to pay $ 497.69 and not a penny more or less. It was very convincing. Only after opening up Zelle to pay and hearing him give me an account name and number that didn't make sense, did I buy myself enough time to login to Entergy and find that I was all paid up. He said I needed to pay Gabriella Rivilla at acct 0704 and write "payment authorized" in the memo. I didn't. And then I had fun with him. I asked him about how he liked his job, if I could speak to Gabriella, told him that my mom was on a ventilator and couldn't have the power shut off. After 23 minutes of this, he hung up on me. But not before he told me I had "attitude" and was sarcastic and "why didn't I just do as I was told" and I told him it isn't the first time a man has told me to do something and I haven't done it.

No just said my lights were gonna be cut off in 30-45 mins that my bill had not been paid in 2 months

I received a call from ###-###-#### stating they were Entergy Power Company. Mike ***** General Manager as he identified himself as said we were past due on our Entergy bill for $2998.95. First I told him NO, bill is paid and current. He proceeded to tell me no payments have been made since March 2021. (RED FLAG) Told him he was wrong that payments have been made and we were definitely current. He asked me when the last payment was made on the account and I told him he should be able to see when that was. He said since he was the billing dept he could not see all the details on the account. (another red flag) So I played along with his scam for a bit to get on our bank account and see if the payments cleared the bank. And guess what - they did. Then he proceeded to tell me that a check was cut to us Monday for the payments because they never cleared the authorization point.HA RED FLAG again. If we did not go to 4857 Government St to pay $1500 cash in a kiosk our power will be disconnected. I told him I would have to call my boss and tell him what was going on and I would call him back. In the meantime I called Entergy and looked our account up online and we owe nothing until the end of July. I tried to call him back at the ###-###-#### X2001 and guess what..... its forwarded to the power company. I gave all the information to the nice lady from Entergy and explained what had happened. She definitely said it is a scam. They DO NOT CALL CUSTOMERS FOR PAYMENT> They mail a notice or send a email. Please let other people out there know to never pay in cash unless it is a one hundred percent legitimate payment center. Thats my story. Thank you - ******

Cut off notice if bill was not paid in 30 minutes

I was told that my electricity was being cut off in 30 minutes at my place of business if I did not pay the bill. I told them I was on auto pay & they told me the system had messed up & the money had not been taken out. They sent me to a Coinstar machine & told me to pay $600. After I paid that in cash they said there was a mistake & I ended up paying $2000. I then realized it was a scam after I called Entergy

always verify telephone calls before providing personal and banking information

Received a call stating I owe 489.72 on my Entergy bill. caller advise me to call ###-###-#### to pay or else they would disconnect my services in 45 minutes. they said to go to a cvs, walgreens, winn dixie or corporate vouchers and buy a MONEY PAK card, put the 489.72 fee as a pre pay keeping in mind also that this card is 5.95 that i would have to pay so my balance would be zero and they would not turn my lights off. when confronted and told him that he would be reported because of this scam, he said, well it's not our fought that the customers believe us by sending us money. i told him I will make sure i report him for attempting to scam someone who is maybe vulnerable and believe this. he said ok.

Someone called me at 5********* claims that they are Entergy. They stated that my electricity will be disconnect for nonpayment. That number is ***-**-****. I goggle that number and it is from China. I tried to contact Entergy online but it would never go thru. So please inform them about this scam because we know that company is not disconnecting because of covid. Thank you.

Caller stated they were from Entergy and that a technician was on the way to disconnect my service.

I was contacted via text message stating my resume had been viewed on CareerBuilder website and it met qualifications for a Data Entry/Customer Service position. I was then instructed to invite the interview manager on Google Hangouts, where i was "interveiwed" with poorly written questions. Once i "passed" i was told that funds would be provided via check to buy my office supplies. A check for $5,000 was sent to my home. They wouldn't tell me what to do specifically with the money until I it was deposited. I cut contact after receiving the check and started investigating, only to find red flags everywhere. I contacted ENTERGY and they state that any job opening they legitimately offer will lead back to their official website for information fill out. I was never directed to the site through this.

An imposter from Entergy called to say our electricity meter had been switched out and our payment we made was returned back to us. Dana (the imposter), said Entergy would be to our business later today to disconnect our electricity. I logged into my checking account and found our payment HAD processed properly and had NOT been returned to us. I told him this while I was on the phone. I told him we were set up on auto-pay and there were no issues with our payments. He still insisted he was from Entergy and even gave me a case number, TC8570074. I told him I knew he was a scammer and I would report him to the Better Business Bureau. He hung up on me.

I received a phone call on my cell from phone number ###-###-#### in regards to someone posing to be Entergy. They indicated that my Electric will be turned off today because of non payment. I told them that i paid it already but they insisted that i didn't and said that i needed to pay it today or ese my service will be turned off today. I needed to go to nearest Winn Dixie to a kiosh and use cash only and pay them now asap. But i looked up my account to make sure that there was no mistake and it stated that it was paid and I have a 0.00 balance. Also i realized that the CARES act is in place and no disconnect are taking place now due to COVID.

She told me to call her back at this number when i get to the store and she would give me more instructions. She wanted me to call her back at ###-###-#### exr. 2105 and ask for EVA.

They called claiming my lights would be disconnected today and I needed to pay $1,000.00. I knew it was a scam, so I am reporting these thieves to prevent an innocent person from being scam.

Scammer (identified as James Turner, acct. Specialist) called & said our service was scheduled to be terminated if we didn't pay $894.62 & a service fee of $12. I asked if the take a check over phone & he said no or a credit card. They said I could go to Dollar General & pay cash. They recited a reference # & disconnect # & asked how soon would it take us to go pay it.
