Received call and voicemail 2 days in a row from a "Sergeant Thomas Rears" with the Escambia County Sheriff's Department about a "very urgent matter" and to call them back immediately. The call used the exact same script in both voicemails. I called the Escambia Sheriff Dept and they stated that they do not have anyone there by that name.

Male called on 9/21/18 @ 10:23am advising he was Lieutenant with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office and that he was following up on why *** failed to show up for a federal grand jury. I informed him that the Escambia County Sheriff's Office wouldn't have anything to do with a "Federal" grand jury and that it would be the US Marshals to serve any federal summons'. He stated that because the US Marshals were so busy with backlogged cases that they requested it be handled by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office. Clearly he wasn't aware that I am a retired Deputy US Marshal and very quickly after learning that, he hung up. No one answers if you try calling the number back.
