I looked up a number for Etsy customer service because they're impossible to get ahold of. I found this number online listed as customer service (805-707-0765). I called, and the person had a deep foreign accent but only answered "customer service." I asked is this Etsy? He said, "Yes, yes, it's Etsy Customer Service." I briefly mentioned the issue I was having. He instantly wanted me to download Anydesk from the App Store, which I did. When it came to the agreement, it said that whoever you give the info to can see the device. I said, "I'm not doing this. There's no need for you to have access to my phone." He got pushy and said, "It's not like I'm trying to take your info." I said, nope and hung up. I'm floored that his number is still active (February 2024) since I just saw some of the reports are from 2023. He's using the same phone number and the same scheme of acting like Etsy and asking people to download the app. Several have been scammed of money.
