I was seeking the number for Esty shop, and while I dialed Esty number incorrectly this rep called me back. He stated his name was Max, and he’s is a Rep for Esty. I explain that I needed to return a refund I received for an item I purchased, and Max stated he would assist me with my request! He asked me to go to google search and type in some words, and I did. He then guided me through a series of accounts such as my Esty account, Amazon account, and CASH APP Account. He then directed me to order a google play gift card for $175 from Amazon as a dummy order just to verify my account! Not knowing I was the dummy that believed that he was legit! Also, Max asked that I use my CASH APP to verify this account for $435.00. At this point I started to ask Max was this some kind of scam, because Amazon and CASH app have nothing to do with my Esty account. Once again he assured me that to return my refund back to the seller I purchased the Esty item from I would need to established my other accounts. He asked for my full name, and the card I used for this purchase. I gave him my credit card and debit card numbers, and address. He also stated that I need to purchase a card called everything Apple Card from Duane or CVS stores to protect my IP address and personal information. I asked him why do I need to buy this everything Apple Card? He stated it would help with verifying my Esty account so that the transaction to return the refund to the Esty seller! I also notice that while I was going back and forth with my accounts he could see what I was ascertaining my information. I believe when he guided me to typed in those words in google it gave him access to my phone and information along with the information I provided to him.
