I opened an Etsy seller account, the following morning I opened the dashboard and saw that my account was listed as suspended. I searched the website and discovered their listed help desk number (Helpdesk + 1- 805-707- 0765 Etsy Contact Number) I was under the impression I was speaking with an Etsy representative named Alex William. He informed me that my account was suspended because they detected fraud and it flagged in their system and that is the reason the account is suspended. He then told me that he would call me from a secure line (1 + (512) 693-7053 ) He then told me to download a screen-sharing app as it is an Etsy procedure. He then had me zelle myself 960 dollars which did not leave my account. He then said that $1 would be sent to me as a verification. I then received a text message stating (ZELLE HAS BEEN DE-ACTIVATED!!, PLEASE DECLINE THE CHARGE OF $960 FROM YOUR 5/3 BANK. AMOUNT CANCELLATION ACCOUNT. [email protected], PLEASE COPY AND PASTE IT IN YOUR BANK. THANK YOU ZELLE INC. ALEX WILLIAM APS2009129/G. THANK YOU ETSY INC) He told me to copy and paste the email I was sent into the field as well as my first and last name initial. At this point the scam was complete and he hung up the phone.
