Received an overnight mail package. Opened it and received a cashiers check along with instructions on how to verify my check and being a secret shopper at Walmart. The instructions told me to reach out to my advisor and cash my check then go get 5 $400 gift cards from Walmart and provide clear pictures of it etc. Seemed suspicious to me and was surprised when I went to mobile deposit the check it was approved. I’ve had a scam like this before but my bank didn’t approve it immediately so I was shocked when this check was approved. Basically looks like a real check from the actual company but it’s not... watch out. I will not be spending the money because I’m sure it will bounce in about a week.
