When I was at my house a man knocked on my door. He claimed that he had ordered extra asphalt and needed it to be used otherwise it would be wasted. He offered to lay asphalt on my front driveway for $60 per yard. He told me he wouldn't charge me for labor or hauling fees. Within two hours he was back with his crew and they quickly laid the asphalt. They measured the area and said that I owe them $17,700. I told them they had only used less than 20 yards of asphalt and it could not have possibly cost that much. He told me that they were charging by the square yard. I told them he was not clear and I could not afford that and he needed to work with me. I asked for a payment plan and he refused. He brought down the price to $14,500 which I put on credit cards. The next day I looked up how much local contractors would do the job for and they told be for my size of drive way between $5000 to $8000 on the high end including labor and hauling fees.

They also did not seal the asphalt later nor did they prepare the previous ground for the asphalt.
