Everhere is effectively stealing obituaries online, rewriting them by taking out most of the personal information and misleading the public as the official obituary and funeral home/website to which you can post condolences, send flowers, etc. This is a copywrite infringement and so misleading, unethical and disturbing. They are taking personal obituaries written about the lives of loved ones and reducing it to a bunch of facts (which they did not even post correctly) … and misleading the public with the appearance that this is the official obituary. They are taking advantage of those at a time of grief and suffering. Everhere will take the obituary down if you request it which I did ..but it still shows up at the top of a web search ..thus continuing to promote their website at the expense of others. The government should put an end to this given how intrusive and disturbing this is for those dealing with grief. Everhere should be required to forward all profits received from stolen obituaries to the funeral home and/or families from whom they stole the obituary rights. In all cases, they should have to note that this NOT the official obituary and post a link to the actual funeral home that was hired by the family.
