I was originally contacted by a woman by text that claimed she got my resume off Indeed. She said I sounded perfect for a completely remote position and that I needed to download the telegram ap and contact Derek Hastings. I did. He asked me a bunch of questions about my previous jobs and abilities. I was to reach out to him the next day on the ap to see if I had gotten the job. I was then sent a job confirmation letter and a check to deposit in my account to purchase the things I needed. I was leery but desperate. I waited for the check to clear so I called my credit union and was told the check was a forgery. I was leery from the beginning because my grandmother always told me when something seems too good to be true, it usually is. The job sounded perfect.
