On 12/24, my friend on IG whom I've known for years posted a video testimony about a bitcoin mining investment opportunity where he invested $500 and received $10k in profit. He referred me to another IG account @_astrotraveler_ with the name Natasha Gomez. I took his recommendation and reached out to her on IG messenger. First she suggested I cashapp her the $500 but cashapp was not working for me. Then I decided to go with Zelle. She said send the $500 to zelle account of Patricia Marie McMahon with phone: 425-900-4331. I questioned that and she said she used that as her business name (but I Googled and it keeps coming up as a dead person). Stupidly, I zelled the money to "Patricia". Natasha then directed me to create an account on the exchangefxtrade.com website. Then within an hour or so the account showed I had deposited $500 with $10k profit. I asked about withdrawing and then this is where it got worse... Natasha then said I needed to "upgrade" the account in order to withdraw. Cost was a minimum of 1k to 5k to be able to withdraw the money and she wanted me to pay through the Zelle account not through the website. I refused several times bc I didn't understand why I would have to pay more money and specifically to her and not to the website.. Then she said she could talk to someone about not having to pay if I made a short video giving my testimony that this was 100% legitimate. I refused again and they have refused to refund me the money bc "you have already invested the $500". I tried to close the account but there are no options to close it. I used the support chat on the site and asked for a refund and for them to close my account and they are not closing nor refunding. Then somehow they must've gotten the password I created on that account and they tried to log into my IG account. I got an alert in my email that "there was a failed attempt to log in". I never tried to log in from another device or anything. I believe they tried to get into my IG account so they could use my identity and scam others. I have called ******* *** and started a fraud claim in the hopes of getting my money back. I reported the IG account plus that of my friend bc I think he was hacked too. My exchangefxtrade.com account is still active and I'll be happy to provide account details if anyone wants to investigate.
