I was sent an email by a person calling themselves Vicky J Buchwitz and saying they were a recruiter at Executech. She said she needed a proofreader to join their team, and to send my resume to Davina Miller, the HR coordinator at [email protected]. I did so, and was contacted via email with an invitation to a Skype interview. The interview was conducted completely over instant messenger, with no video or audio element included, which was my first red flag. The interview questions were all very standard, but there was little to no interaction with what I wrote - only a bare minimum to prove that there was actually another human being on the other end. At the end of the interview, the interviewer provided a link to a Google Form that I was supposed to fill out and let her know once I had completed it. I asked her if I could ask a few questions, which I did, and she said that all questions would be answered during the training and orientation if I was selected. I asked if I could get some confirmation that this was not a scam, as I looked the person up on LinkedIn and couldn't find her, then when she couldn't really reply in a way that satisfied me, I said this is a scam and I won't be completing the assessment, at which point she said goodbye, have a nice day.
