Email from associate (John Walsh) requesting resume in word format. Second email stating information was passed to his associate (Drew Harmon) who was responsible for this recruitment project. Drew sent an email telling saying he could not get the resume to upload into his candidate management system. He then requested the appliant go to https://Resume-Experts.net and have them update the resume to be ATS optimized. He also requested that a conversation to discuss the details of an employment opportunity, and that that he would be available all day and just let him know what time. A call time was provided, but no call was ever received. Resume-Experts charged $89 to make the resume ATS compliant, but document returned was not changed in any way relative to what was sent in.

I received an eMail from "John Walsh" - [email protected]:

I am reaching out to see if you would be interested in exploring Executive Level opportunities.

I am Executive Recruiter of Executives Circle Inc., and our client has retained us to fill various senior-level positions in one of their recent acquisitions.

I have reviewed your Linkedin profile and found your skills and experience to be impressive and relevant to the job position. (NOTE: - They contacted me via eMail address not listed on my LinkedIn page)

If you are interested in learning more about our company and the position, we would love to set up a quick phone call. We would be pleased to answer any questions you may have and give you all the details about the job.

Three days later I received the following eMail - [NOTE - my name was not used in the salutation]:

Hello,

This email is in response to the resume you’ve sent to us. I am the team leader on this project and have received your information from John Walsh.

I will check my schedule and let you know a few time slots for a brief phone call.

I am having trouble uploading your resume to our candidate management system. Have you ever had issues with your resume before? There may be an issue with the file, can you please send me another copy so I can try again. You have a professionally written resume so I am not sure what the issue is.

Upon sending a different version of my resume, I received this eMail (note - this eMail did not include my name in the salutation):

Hello,

I am still having trouble uploading your resume, I asked my colleague and apparently, it is a common issue. He instructed me to ask you to get your resume ATS optimized from https://Resume-Experts.net

We can open the file without any issues but the problem is with the way information in your resume is structured and formatting used which is resulting in a lot of missing information in experience fields when your resume is parsed by the candidate management systems. Please check your resume and try fixing the issue so we don’t have to manually type everything in our candidate tracking system.

For reasons of confidentiality and non-disclosure, I am not able to share any details of the vacancy or company with you at this time, unfortunately. However, we have a meeting scheduled with the client today by EoD, and I would love to discuss the opportunity with you in detail after that.

I will be available for a call any time tomorrow. Simply reply to this email and let me know the time that suits you best and I will give you a call to discuss the next steps and, in the meantime, please try to get your resume issue fixed so our timing is not affected.

I checked out Resume-Experts.net and found the site to be pretty sketchy.

I initiated to process to and after inputing name and eMail address they immediately asked to select payment option - which is ONLY Paypal even thought they state you can do a "guest" checkout.

At this point I abandoned the process and began checking into these two businesses.

These two entities Executives-Circle.com and Resume-Experts.net are total scams in my opinion.

Executives Circle website does not have a Privacy Policy even though they are collecting PII. Resume-Experts.net does have a brief privacy policy but it is insufficient given the PII they are collecting.

They persons listed on these site do not have LinkedIn profiles.

Persons listed on these sites are names also used in another scam that was reported here on ScamPulse.com but listed under a different business (One Hire Inc.) and referred to the same resume service.

The scam previously reported used EXACTLY the same eMail copy.

These businesses do not have business accounts on LinkedIn.

Follow Up eMail from Resume-Experts.net does not have an Opt-Out option.

Both websites are hosted by the same entity and were built about the same time in 2021 and build using the same website builder.

There are a number of issues from a website design and file naming convention throughout both sites (note - they adopt the same file naming convention across both sites).
