Business made initial contact with us by phone inviting us to attend a vacation club presentation at a local hotel on 05/06/2018. At the presentation the agents explained to us the advantages of joining their travel club (resorts, condos, villas, hot weeks, hotels, packages, tours, cruises, airfare, & auto rentals). Agents emphasized the simplicity of utilizing specially assigned travel consultants to arrange a trip for us anywhere in the world. Whenever we tried to contact consultants by email or phone, we had to place numerous requests before anyone got back to us. If someone got back to us, their information was vague, confusing, or not helpful. As a result, WE NEVER were able to plan a trip using Executive Travel Services. I requested my membership be closed in May of 2019. I also contacted Monterey Financial Services on May 6, 2020, to make sure the issue was resolved. I didnt hear from Executive Travel for almost 3 years. Then in late summer/early fall of 2023, [email protected] emailed me asking me to pay my membership dues of $299. I emailed back & the travel desk office recovered our account & agreed to waive the fee, reflecting a $0.00 balance, and asked that I notify them of whether I wanted to cancel, suspend, or keep the membership active. I thanked them for checking into the issue & would get back to them. After considering the difference between the option of canceling or suspending, I decided to cancel. I then emailed them back a day or two later saying that I wanted to cancel the membership. In addition to this email, I physically wrote a letter and mailed it to Executive Travel at the 2655 First Street, Suite 250, Simi Valley, CA 93065 location to make sure that the issue was resolved. However, I never received an email or statement back stating that they had actually taken care of cancelling my membership. On April 18 of 2024, I emailed [email protected] explaining we had cancelled in Oct. & asked them to send verification. The agent said she could not find any record of our cancellation. (You would think at this point, good business practices would have required someone to contact me by phone) After 4 attempts to get this straightened out again, I finally hear from someone at [email protected]. He said that I can't cancel my membership until my dues are paid and then I have to follow the following steps to cancel the membership: 1. Contact them by phone. (I did many times but they don't return calls even though a customer service number is provided.) 2 Provide the request in writing, which I did many times. 3 Sign a form which they were to send to me. After the rudeness of this last agent, I realized that everything from the start was a scam. This company keeps threatening to send my account to Monterey Financial Services if I don't pay my dues. However, item 9C of my contract with them states that "if I am in arrears of any dues, Executive Travel reserves the right to deny use of the membership. A reinstatement fee of $299 will be required to reinstate your rights under the suspended Contract. Payment of fees will reinstate the membership. If arrearages are due for a period of years, payment of those fees will reinstate the membership." No where does it say that Executive Travel can threaten to send your name to a collection agency. I have noticed inconsistencies with the way they refer to themselves: Almost all of the literature provided in the beginning bears the name Executive Travel, but sometimes the name used is simply Travel Services. There seems to be only two phone numbers for all services 661-299-6534 or 661-312-8342. The website for dispute questions which is listed at the end of the contract is www.TheArbitrationCenter.com. It is listed as an insecure site and does not provide a phone number. It does , however, list fees for filing & administration, withdrawal, & technical fees. Its purpose is not explained. Please look into the operations of this business very thoroughly. I very strongly believe we have been scammed. I have copies of my contract with this company. I have copies of emails to and from them. I have copies of the travel literature (very general information, not really specific enough in regard to contacts) that they threw together inside an expensive looking leather binder and gave to us on the very first meeting. If you find that this is indeed a scam, I would greatly appreciate getting my money back.
