Fake check

I was asked to deposit the check,and go to a store to purchase 3x $500 American Express gift card and I could keep a commission payment of $400 and if I complete the task within 12 hours I would receive a bonus of $250 or if completed within 24hrs I'd receive $150 bonus. The only difference between what I was told and what others complaints are, I was not asked to scratch the silver part. Just take pix of the card and receipt

I RECEIVED A TEXT MESSAGE STATING THAT WHOLE FOODS WAS LOOKING FOR SECRET SHOPPERS. I GAVE MY INFO, AND WAS TOLD A PACKAGE WOULD BE SENT TO ME. I RECEIVED A PACKAGE VIA USPS. INCLUDED WAS A CHECK FOR 2400, MADE OUT TO ME. THE COMPANY CHECK HAD A NAME OF K.J. WOODS CONSTRUCTION, INC( P.O. BOX 947. SOUTH SAN FRSNSISCO CA 94083). ALSO INCLUDED WAS A SHEET OF PAPER THAT SAID CUSTOMER SERVICE EVALUATION TOOL. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PAGE IS A FADED WHOLE FOODS LOGO COVERED BY A NIKE GIFT CARD SYMBOL WITH STORES YOU CAN GET THE GIFT CARD AT. I WAS TOLD TO GO TO ANY OF THESE STORES AND PURCHASE $2000 WORTH OF NIKE GIFT CARDS. THEN I AM TO SCRATCH OFF THE SILVER AREA ON THE BACK OF THE CARD. I WAS TO THEN CAPTURE AN IMAGE OF THE RECEIPT AND THEN TO EMAIL BACK THE STORE INFO, NAME OF THE CASHIER, WAS I THANKED, AND CAPTURED IMAGES OF THE GIFT CARD OR CARDS. IF I DID THIS WITHIN 6 HOURS OF RECEIVING MY PACKET I WOULD GET A $250 BONUS.

Just received a cashier's check mailed from this company with a remitters name unknown to us, we suspect it is from a scammer using the name Stephen Jones who contacted us to provide music for his wedding. The multiple red flags included the typical story of "I need to send you extra money for the videographer so you can pay them..." We cancelled the gig and had The Knot block him. Cashier's check looks totally legit. So here I am spending yet more time and energy searching for proof that this is indeed a scam, and hoping there is some way to stop them, or at least protect others from becoming a victim!

I received a priority mail (USPS) with a government check and an offer to be a secret surveyor for ***** *****, by purchasing Nike gift cards. The check amount of $1950 was to purchase $1500 of the gift cards, and a $450 commission for me. I was instructed to purchase the gift cards, scratch off the pin code area and send a photo of the cards to the designated email address, along with a review form of how the cashier treated me.

Unfortunately, the signature on the check was obviously a fake (blurry, as if it had been copied many times) and the letter had several grammatical errors.
