On July 29, 2020 I replied to a Craigslist (Palm Springs) post selling two adorable 8 week old siamese kittens. I wanted to get them for my 3 kids who love cats. The person replied to my email and asked for my cellphone and we began communicating via text from then on. She identified herself as Serina and explained that she had a cattery called Exotic Cattery. She offered both kittens for $350. Since Palm Springs is a couple of hours away, and I have to travel with my kids, we setup a pickup date of August 15, 2020. She asked that we pay for the two kittens up front before picking them up because she needed to pay some vet bills for them. She asked me to pay her via Apple Pay using her phone number. We didn't have the full $350 at the time so we asked her if we could pay in 3 parts, which we did. The first payment of $100 was made on August 2, then $75 on August 3rd and finally $175 on August 20. When it finally came time to pickup the two kittens in Palm Springs, I reached out to Serina to confirm our agreed time, and she never replied. I never heard back from her since. So we never got the kittens and were left $350 short. I filed 3 disputes with my bank for the three payments but they denied all three disputes for no specific reason. My family and I are devastated that we fell for this scam.
