Scammed in Indiana

I thought we were smarter than to be taken like this. I'm really embarrassed. We've been chasing after a Wire Hair Fox Terrier since ours passed away. The FB post offered one in Colorado for $800 plus $342 for shipping to Indiana. The 15 hour drive one way made shipping seem like a great idea. It all seemed shaky, but emotional buys are hard to overcome sometimes.

At the last minute, Express Shipping wanted an upgrade on the crate which meant more money. Anywhere from $2500 to $5000. Of course we'd get a full refund upon arrival. All of the other scams listed are similar to what happened to us. Out the money for the pet for adoption. I don't believe there actually was a dog now, just a photo. We went round and round with the high pressure shipper rep, but did not pay
them. I have requested a full refund from the seller, and told him we will go to Indiana and Colorado authorities and light them up on Facebook, social media, etc.
No answer yet. This all played out via texts today 8-26-22. Wish us luck!

Well wish I would have found this website before we were Scammed. When came down to shipping our puppy Express Shipping wanted an upgrade on the create which meant more money. All of the other Scams are basically what happen to us. Out money for the pet which was Cavapoo for adoption and they work with the Express Shipping I sure hope anyone that get mixed up in these people keeps checking until they find this website. Cavapoo for Adoption will set anything up and then when asked by Express Shipping to upgrade the create they will tell there is nothing they ca do. Request refund. No answer.

Tried to get a Pomski from Instagram. Paid money through PayPal and puppy was supposed be sent to my house. Got tracking number and everything. Five minutes before the puppy was to take off u get an email from the carrier that the crate was too small and they needed me to give more money for a bigger crate. I questioned why would you not have the proper crate size if you transport animals.
When I disputed all charges on PayPal and my credit card and told the seller I wanted a refund, all communication stopped?

I responded to a few classified ads liking for an Akita puppy in the Windsor Ontario area. I got a response from a Robert Pass. He emailed stating that he received 2 puppies as a gift, however he just got a new job and had to move. The ad was for the Windsor Ontario area. He stated he was in Winnipeg. I inquired how much for the puppy. He informed me that he is not looking to make money off the puppy but is willing to adopt to me. He informed me I would only have to pay for shipping. I received a call from a man with a heavy accent. I could barely understand him. He informed me the cost for transportation of the puppy directly to my front door was $500. However their accounting system was down and they could only accept vanilla prepaid MC or Visa. Once paid, I received another call informing me that the crate the puppy as dropped in doesn’t meet the transportation authority standards. I would have to rent a crate at either $1000 or $1500. I contacted Robert Pass and told him the crate he used is unacceptable. He pressured me to rent the company crate and 100% of the rental cost would be reimbursed to me in cash when the puppy was delivered. Didn’t make sense to me. The shipping company guy kept calling. I refused to take further calls other then to let him know I refused to be scammed. I emailed R Pass and told him this was a scam. He denies my allegation. However the ‘company’ has stopped calling. R Pass continues to email stating that I am abandoning the puppy.

Received an email on shipping information on a pet then immediately I received a phone call. The individual never stated the company name or represented himself professionally. He said an email was just sent to me and my puppy was ready to ship. An hour later I receive another email stating a specific crate was needed and to send the money for it so my puppy could ship. Again, I receive a telephone call immediately following the email. I never once spoke to anyone at the Expressway Shipping business. This man said he was the agent and all communication is through him. The payment method requested was Zelle and if not Zelle, specifically a Vanilla Visa gift card. Wanting a copy of the front and back of the card. Once payment was received 2 hours later another email is sent saying the puppy did not have pet insurance and it would cost $1000 and again to send the money by a Vanilla Visa gift card. I was told this charge and the crate fee combined totaled $1800 would be refunded to me in cash when the puppy was delivered. When I questioned why all these charges were not mentioned at the beginning of this transaction because if this company was legitimate they would have outlined all expenses to me. He said they were a legitimate company with a good reputation. If this were true they would have outlined all costs provided updated flight information and had a professional customer service department taking calls and available to speak to clients, and accept credit cards through a financial institution. I said I was reporting them to authorities and the BBB, I was threatened when being told they would report me for animal abuse and abandonment, I told them to go ahead and do so because they were scammers. I'm sharing this with everyone because these people are thieves and will try in every way to take your money and work along with another company called Loveable Frenchie Pups located out of Colorado. Please research and do not do business with these people.
