This morning they charged a card I have not held for 2+ years 4 different transactions in a row, totaling just under $600. My bank recognized the scam and has filed a fraud report.
There are two other neighbors who have reported fraudulent charges here, and my bank said it was likely a larger scam running from within the business. This business is the only common denominator we have.
If I count the previous fraudulent activity, the total attempted charges are around $1000.
The community here is varied and some are vulnerable - I am sure they are scamming those less fortunate than I.
When I spoke to the gas station attendant, they accused me of using the “outside pumps”, I only ever pay inside or “your friends stealing”. No sir, you are scamming the neighborhood you serve.
They then said it was not possible for them to run any credit cards in the morning, although my bank confirmed it was run today.
