They start by misleading you in thinking they are calling from the Federal Student Loan office to offer Student Loan Forgiveness. I began to question them once I had given them my card number to help file papers for the "Forgiveness" program. The person kept making errors on the paperwork she was sending me. Then she asked for "only the last 4 numbers of my social security number" she then said she needed to verify the first three, then she needed the middle two. By then I had given all my information; then she asked me to record that I understood that she was with EZ Path and was not a part of the Federal Student Loan office. I mumbled, therefore, later she tried to call to get me to re-record - I would not follow through as by now I believed I had been scammed. The paperwork they never delivered correctly and there were many mistakes made. When I tried to call to correct the mistakes I never could get through on any of the telephone numbers they gave me. All my emails were returned. The only communication they would give is through texts and them calling me.

Spoke with agent on the phone about the loan forgiveness opportunity or reduced interest rate for student loan repayments. Agent asked for personal information over the phone like SSI and date of birth. I hung up before giving her my SSI, but it seemed suspicious, and the website she showed seems too basic, like it is fake.
