any service work on it due to that fact, they stated it was their “birthday” and they were feeling generous so they were putting it up for sale as an announcement on their FB as a post, they were selling it for $3000 & it would go up to $3500after that day or tomorrow but the victim had talked them down to taking $2800. The agreement would be $500 down payment on cash app and the $2300 would be in person, where they’d handle the inspection and the paperwork, they’d take the announcement down and let all
the other candidates know they’d found a buyer and that they weren’t accepting any more offers or payments by creating another post, they never actually did any of what they’d said they would, this is where everything went left, they asked if they needed the cash app handle to send it which is GerardAGuzman. Around 11:17 AM, 3 hours after confirming the $500 the victim sent from cash app they inform her that someone else, a young gentleman had also sent them money for the car, $1500 through cash app, although they’ve stated they refunded the gentleman his money I can’t but wonder if they actually did as they were disingenuous from what I read through their entire conversation, as the victim and merchant continued their business proposal the victim started to notice
some red flags and began to ask some questions they didn’t really like. They were making up excuses as to why they could no longer meet the victim to bring her a car and a bill of sale as well as collect the rest of the money all in all they did get $2,950 from her since they got $500 from an apple gift card on May 7th, 2024 and $405 from a Walmart visa money card that is reloadable on May 8th, 2024 and $150 from a
Walmart money card that’s a master card on May 9th, 2024 that’s also reloadable, however with help the victim was able to recover those funds from
Apple (still waiting to hear from Walmart money card/green dot of the $405 & $150 walmart green dot money cards were caught in time) & after gathering all the information that we needed with the
investigation and advice from the criminal investigation department we did some more digging around on social media on May 16th and stumbled upon the victim's friend daughter’s page and an announcement was made on May 6th that she had been hacked on May 6th which is the fake birthday the scammer gave since the real FB owner’s birthday is actually in August, the car post was made the day after so it’s impossible that she’d made it as she was completely locked out of it, so Gerard A. Guzman was & is impersonating her as wanting to sale a car as that’s the name attached
to the cash app he's been giving everyone.
