Contacted seller through Facebook Marketplace for a $450 Conn Constellation trumpet he listed. Listing said he was in NYC, local to me, but he said he recently moved to Syracuse NY, which is very far from me. He offered to ship trumpet for additional $30. I agreed. He wanted me to send money by Paypal and gave me his Paypal ID. He said he wanted me to do it as friends, and I thought I was helping him out by doing so, to avoid the business fees. After checking out his Facebook profile and looking more into his ad, I sent him the money. He offered to sell more instruments and sent me listings for them (which I forwarded to my brother, a musician). He said he would send me tracking info. Three days after purchase and a day after asking him for tracking info, he said it was shipped, and he would send me tracking info when he got home from work that day. That was the last I heard from him, and it is a week later and the trumpet never arrived.
