Facebook Reel - Ommrh.shop Reports & Reviews (1)

- Kilgore, TX, USA • Jul 03, 2024

I saw a Reel on Facebook that looked like it was a QVC commercial. It was for outdoor rocking chairs for camping/outdoor activities. I clicked the link to order the product and was redirected to aoitta.shop. The chairs were available and they had a deal of buy 2 get 2 free. It sounded too good to be true but I went ahead and ordered the chairs hoping for the best. The order was placed on April 7, 2024 and I received a confirmation email and the money was immediately debited from my checking account. I felt uneasy about it so I called my bank and let them know that I had just placed an online order that might be a scam. They informed me of my options and I decided to wait to see if I would actually receive the product. On April 9th I received a tracking number and website link to track the shipment. On May 4, 2024 I received a package from China. It was not the four chairs that I ordered. The scammers sent me a business card in a 5"x7" envelope. They used this inexpensive method just to create a tracking number to make it look like I was receiving a package. I contacted the scammers by email at [email protected] and let them know that I didn't receive the product that I ordered. They said that the logistics website indicated that it was delivered and that my package may have been stolen. This was the only package that I was expecting and I've never had any issues with stolen packages or lost mail. If my package was stolen, why did I receive an envelope from China that was delivered the same day my package was supposedly delivered? On May 9, they requested that I send pictures of the items I received. I sent them the pictures and on May 11th they claimed that the envelope was not sent from them. They offered to refund me my money or resend the shipment via a "more secure" shipping method. I had already reported the issue to my bank and they sent me a temporary payment of $52 until the investigation was complete. I opted for the order to be re-shipped just to see if I would actually get the chairs. (The email address I was communicating with changed to [email protected]) On May 17, 2024 the scammers said they would resend the shipment but the "new" shipping company said it would take 25-30 days. On May 27, 2024 I emailed because I hadn't received a new tracking number. They emailed back with the new tracking number. On June 13, 2024 I checked the tracking website and the tracking number showed that the package was delivered. Once again, I DID NOT receive anything! I emailed the scammers and let them know that I still didn't receive my package and that I wanted a refund. They have not responded to that email and as of today, July 3, 2024, the aiotta website and the tracking websites are shut down. My bank closed the investigation and refunded me my money. I will be reporting this to Facebook as well.
