After being interviewed by Skype text, I was offered a remote position as a Data Entry Specialist. An eCheck for 5,202.00 was sent to me for deposit to cover cost of equipment and software. My bank stated it would take 7 days to clear. The company wanted to get started right away and wanted me to transfer funds that were available to begin ordering what was needed for the position. After trying several ways, Paypal, etc to send the funds, it was suggested I buy a Google Play card in that amount - 220 dollars. The gift cards only go to 200 dollars, so two were bought for 110 dollars each. Photos were sent of the cards. One was redeemed by someone and the other was not redeemed due to Google Play issues. Less than 48 hours before the check would clear, it was removed from my account with a 28 dollar chargeback fee. Another eCheck was sent for a total of 2,400. My bank rejected it. No explanation. According to my Skype interviewer, the finance dept was notified and found the reason the check was rejected. I have yet to hear that reason and I am still out 248.00. The only information I have about the company is an email account and the supposed name of the interviewer. No location. I searched multiple sites for addresses. Paid for a reverse email lookup service and nothing was found.

I've been applying for remote healthcare jobs through indeed.com. I got an email for an interview for a remote position at "NuvoAir Medical" which is a real company. The email was from "Lynn Peterson" their "HR team member". They requested an interview through Microsoft Teams chat and told me to reach out to the "interview/HR manager" "Michelle Murphy". A couple days later a Man named "Dan Corres" called me and offered me the position. Shortly after I received an email from "Lynn Peterson" requesting onboarding information via a DocuSign form which asked for personal information. Later I was directed to speak with my "team leader" "Dan Keenan" via Microsoft Teams. He gave me a briefing on the company and said that they would send me a $15.810.89 check in increments for "working equipment & a sign-on bonus" through the mail or e-send (pdf) which blew my mind! None of this was making any sense. It all seemed extremely sketchy and very unusual. I immediately knew this was too good to be true and started digging deeper online to see if anyone else had experienced this and found others with the same type of experiences. Of course it's a scam! If it sounds too good to be true, it is!
