The individual by the name of David Deason, did a thorough job of describing himself as a home buyer in Gillette Wyoming and how he was busy trying to wrap up relocating from Montana to move here. It was an elaborate speal that was believable for proposal because i spoke to someone through the phone line twice. i believed them to be real. We were under the impression the house was bought. And we were allowed to paint upon delivery of products. It became suspicious at this point. However a check was sent for near the exact amount requested for full amount rather than deposit. They wanted us to provide them with 900 of the money they just sent to us. 2 full payments. 500 and 400 to a pay pal account. Well... the house is located less than a block away from my storage unit. Right on good ole Tepee St. So i drove by the house on my way to storage and the bank to deposit the check sent. Well in the front lawn is a realtors sign for sale. So i called her. Sure enough, house is vacant, fully renovated, still listed as a foreclosure, with no knowledge of a David Deason. The check was not cleared before he oddly blames his wife for sending my payment with a paint delivery payment. And asked me to pull these funds for him from the money sent in 2 payments. My bank says scam and havent even waited for the check to finish process. I felt the same. Finding out through the realtor iced the cake while this man tried to convince he was real to take my money. Elaborate. Detailed. Knowledgeable about what he wants,how to ask for it, how to set up a deal. It looks good all the way up until i couldnt get into the property to do work. The best one yet. Really had me going. Glad i was smart enough to wait... im usually impatient about alot of things in life. Go go go. And if i hadnt dealt with this before in a slightly odd similar way, just less thorough. I may have helped the guy by splitting those payments. What happens is the secured check they issued to you bounces after youve already sent them wired money to a non existent paint delivery guy. Then the folllowing day the painter shows up to do work to find out he had his money taken by assisting these people. We do cash and check only for a reason in our business.
