On September 25, 2023 I received a message from Hartwood and associates saying to call them because they had court documents to serve me with that. It was a time sensitive issue and to call them immediately so I called them and the man said that I owed for a 2006 vehicle repossession of $8000 and that they would take $3600 today or they were going to take me to court. Of course I knew this was a scam and even verified with our states court documents. These people need to be shut down and held accountable for harassing and scaring people luckily, I am smart enough to know about the scams, but there are a lot of people who would fall for it. Please do what you can to shut down Heartwood and associates.

Received a call from a blocked number telling me that I was potentially being sued. They said they didn't have information and to call Hartwood & Associates at 888-662-0878 with a case number. When I called, they said that I was being sued and that I could stop litigation if I was willing to settle the amount but would need to pay at least 15% of the amount they were asking for. I told them I did not have the money. I requested something to be mailed to me showing they held the debt in writing. They said they would email it to me. I told them that was not suitable as I needed something in the mail in writing. They refused and told me e-mail was the only way. I told them I needed something on official letterhead stating they held my debt. A man by the name of John told me that the email would contain a document that had the letterhead as mail could not be confirmed as received. He said that if I refused that I would be served and they would see me in court. I hung up and called the company that contacted me months prior to verify if they still held the debt. They do. This company is a SCAM and is trying to get any money they can. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO THEM!!
