"Hello ******* *****,This is Evelyn Cooper from GTS Company. We noticed your application for the Remote Customer Service / Remote Data Entry position that we recently posted. We are pleased to inform you that you have been shortlisted for an online interview with the HR Manager for this role. The pay rate is $30 per hour. Please reply with "YES" if you're interested." I then replied with "YES" and the next message that Evelyn Cooper sent me was "The interview will be held via Microsoft Teams, and additional information about the job and company will be shared during the interview (which ended up being 2 hours long). Kindly download the Microsoft Teams app on your phone or computer and create a Microsoft account (using Outlook, Hotmail, or Live). Once set up, sign into Teams, add our HR Manager, Mr. Michael Katz, by clicking on this link: https://teams.live.com/l/invite/FAArKRyd71wxw8tPwE and send him a message to proceed with the interview and job details. Please ensure to reach out to me if your request is not accepted within 10 minutes. Thank you!" Now when I did get into Microsoft Teams this Mr. Michael Katz and I had went through a whole 2 hour long interview process where he proceeded to collect my full name, my home address that included the state and city where I live, my phone number, my email, Florida state ID, zip code and my full name signature on a falsified job offer of employment. These are the text messages that I got from Mr. Michael Katz verbatim, in which I got a sinking feeling that this was a fraudulent scam: "Your Company profile has been created and Verified...The company has instructed the company accredited vendor to send you a MacBook laptop and a time tracking device( first set of materials) for training purposes to arrive tomorrow..... You are required to get an apple gift card which the vendor will be using to install work apps on the Laptop that will be sent to you...Will you be able to get the card before 2:00 pm to enable the vendor to ship the materials today?" as well as "You are required to purchase an apple gift card worth $500 and also I need you to know that you will be reimbursed for the purchase along with your first-week pay...this is just to show how committed you're to work with the company....You are required to purchase the card from any grocery store around you make sure to get a receipt for record purpose.... Understood?".
