Calls and texts threatening to sue me if i do not pay for copyrights to a logo i do not use. Copyright infringements going to cost me $75,000

- Victorville, CA, USA • Jun 25, 2024

I use this website to have a logo made for $40 and when they made the logo and I said I liked it they said I owe them $399 to copyright and be able to use the logo and when I told them that is not what was originally stated And I refused their logo and told them I do not want it and never used it 10 months later, they are texting me and harassing me telling me they're going to sue me for $75,000 and saying that it's infringement and that they own my business name.

I purchased a logo from Vista Logos (545 5th Avenue 6th Floor, NY) for $249. Then, they said I needed a lifetime trademark. I paid them again ($1,124 total so far). Then, they said I needed to pay them another $800+ for a copyright. I declined and stopped working with them because of their questionable business tactics. I have not used the logo I purchased. I did not publish a website using the logo. I did not do any business under the logo name or any other name.

Vista sent me texts of all of the laws I am breaking by not getting a "closure" letter from the US Copyright Office. I contacted the Copyright Office and they instructed me to send them (USCO) an email and list the "author" of the submittal. The author is Vista. I called Bryan Smith at Vista today and he stated they would deny closing the application unless I paid them an additional $1,750 by the end of business today. They sent me an official looking US Copyright Office Receipt dated 5/12/23. I think this is a scam to get more money from me. They keep texting me about all of the copyright laws I am breaking because this matter has not been closed. Thanks so much!

I paid for the vista logos to make my business logo about 3 years ago. They did not deliver the final product as to my satification despite I have asked for revision. They did not revise the logo but ended up asking me to pay for the copy right, which I did not want to. Then this place did not care what i like or not, send over the logo that I never used because it is not right. They now as of June 2024 kept texting me wanting me to pay for extra money for their claim of copy right services. I have never received any official documentation of the copy right services nor copy right numbers. This company is a total scammer and wants to extort more money out of me. Please make them stop and go away!

Scammer claimed that another entity was seeking to use a logo that my organization no longer uses. Also claimed that our DBA name was at risk of copyright infringement.

I bought a logo from them about a 6 months ago. Now they are texting me to pay them to get a closure letter to transfer ownership back over to them for about $700 or they will sue for copyright infringement for $75,000.00.

I declined all the logos and the fees they tried to charge me to register the logo with the trademark office. When I told them I would register it myself, they said I could not do that, a lie. I declined to pay more money and never used the logo and chalked it up to experience.

Despite never using the logo and telling them I would not use it, they texted me yesterday with the threats for the closeout letter.

Like others I was told that the logo would just be in the public space if I didn’t register it and they advertised it as 100% ownership.

After going back and forth with them, they said they would be initiating a lawsuit. I told them to go ahead and I will be sending a report to the District Attorney, the Attorney General and the US Attorney. all of whom I know from my 31 years in law enforcement. The last 14 in executive management. I have blocked their numbers that they texted and called on.
This is a scam company.

I bought a logo from them about a year and a half ago. Now they are texting me to pay them to get a closure letter to transfer ownership back over to them for about $700 or they will sue for copyright infringement for $75,000.00.

I received 2 consecutive texts citing several copyright laws, and threatening legal consequences. Stated that "if I am not using the logo, I would have to get a closure letter to get my IP legally closed." Very lengthy texts. signed by Mark Wilson, IP Paralegal, Vistal Logos. Spelled Vistal, not Vista. I replied that I have an attorney in the family, and everything would be turned over to my attorney, and that I consider the matter closed. I expected to get some "way out" with money being involved. Perhaps I will get that tomorrow.

I bought a logo from them. I only used the logo for a short time. I was then sent text messages about 18 months later saying that I need to stop using the logo immediately or I will be in violation of copyright law. I was told that the logo would just be in the public space if I didn’t register it and they advertised it as 100% ownership. After going back and forth with them, they said they would be initiating a lawsuit. They have since started to call me. I didn’t answer but found that that phone number was them. I have blocked their numbers that they texted and called on.
